Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 7hAnything I write ends up edited by an LLM at some point, especially if its longform, and I unironically gave it the military writing guide to apply for concision and its worked pretty well. 080
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I normally love her stuff, but that one really felt like a "watch me go on cruises FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES" tax write off video 1100
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Like, you can choose what voice it has out of the box. It's not a person. It's not even an AI. 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026By using a car to drive are you enslaving it? Calling it a slave implies that it has the internal capability to desire something else, that you are keeping it from. Treating a tool you use with respect teaches you to be respectful. I guess I just don't get how you get to "Siri is a woman". 200
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026What you're describing is the opposite of respect. If you think that's what I'm trying to describe here I must have failed to make it clear. Having a computer assistant set a timer for you by voice is not different than setting the timer with your hands, morally. How you treat those things matters. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Do you consider Siri conscious? It's correct to treat things with respect relative to their purpose. It's not disrespectful to a trash can to put trash in it, but it is disrespectful to kick it or degrade it. It's not disrespectful to ask an assistant to perform a task it's made for. 110
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026What has your token usage looked like on it? Because that was my primary concern. I tried to build something similar earlier this year and found that it's churn was not worth it's output, but I don't whisper to the machines as well. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Because a world in which you, and everyone, treat everything with a baseline level of respect is good. The assumption is that you should respect and be kind. 1490
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I thought it was impossible but then I saw his extremely manic "I cured my depression" video and it made me concerned 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 27/09/2026You just made me so nervous that Purdy was hurt. I know nothing about football but I care very much about winning my fantasy League 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Only tyler1 is allowed to do this and even then its only so that he can scare off my sleep paralysis demon when I fall asleep watching his videos. 031

Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 22/09/2026This is probably my actual favorite musical and too many people don't know about it at all. 110
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Super fun game! A little shorter than I wanted but well with it imo. 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 20/09/2026You forgot, he's coached by Jon Jones. Who hit a pregnant woman with his car, fled the scene, came back to get something out of his car, and left again. 070
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Oh my God you just gave me the idea to make a rimworld hockey mod thank you 133
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Boilerplate answer "Trans issues? I'll be honest I don't know anything about that what people do in their free time is their choice. Anyway have you noticed that we're run by nazi pedophiles? I feel like nobody is mentioning this.". Not super hard 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Astra has been good for having a conversation with, doing some planning, making a spec. Its even done alright at driving through a goal. But it should never be writing code imo because I've had the same experience. Deepseek or Terra is the solution there. 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 17/09/2026The only good comedian from the blue collar comedy tour. The one I least expected to be a good dude 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Feeling awful for the Jets right now, this clown tanking his trade value and ruining what looked like could be a good year. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I've built a tool for this because I realized how badly I personally wanted it! Giving my agents the ability to discuss what they did with me through a clear communication framework is nice. Asking them why they did something is nice. It helps me treat them more as a junior dev, something I get. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I genuinely think this has not become the standard because of democratic consultant and politician obsession with respectability, and an animus towards trans people that annoy them in the extremely progressive places they live IRL, and extremely reactionary places they live online. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I definitely agree with that. I don't think it makes a difference in this case, though. Because the complaint has no real bearing, it's relatively easy to suck the air out of. The dialogue tree of "this is weird who cares" -> "if children are your concern let's discuss the pedophile party" is ez. 210
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I disagree. I think that the early Harris campaign showed how effective "you're being weird, gas is $4 a gallon and real people can't afford to live" can be. But ultimately, I think any of these issues are for sorting in primaries. 100
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026It forgot the most important part! Pundits want it because trans folks on X The Everything App made them feel upset once, then the algorithm served them gamergate-tier slop for years. A true violence! 142
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026My counterpoint to this is that an even better response is making it socially unacceptable to talk about it in the same way "I hate black people is". This starts with "this is a weird thing for you to be so focused on". Taking a line implies its worth talking about, or okay to talk about. It isn't! 120
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The problem is, moving right on it makes NO DIFFERENCE to these people because they... just want to vote republican! They'll find another excuse! Just say "its weird that you care so much about this when a nazi pedophile is in the white house" to the interviewer and move on! 120
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 15/09/2026In my experience, this is it. Its a fantastic "I want to be republican because I'm a reactionary asshole but I don't want my friends to know it" issue. Its something that you can say at a dinner party with other 50+yo people and not get side eyes as hard as "I really REALLY hate black people" 120
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 13/09/2026As a custom game lover I'm EXTREMELY excited to see what folks build. 020
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 12/09/2026You should look up Grubby if you haven't already, just done a ton to keep wc3 going and his tournaments are pretty fun! 010
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Yeah I honestly don't think anyone stood a chance once Abdul actually got airtime, which is dope. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I'm not sure I would take "Hasan said someone told him he was essential to winning" as proof, but his community phone banking is huge! I do really appreciate when influencers actually motivate their viewership to participate in politics meaningfully. 110
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Oh, that's really cool! I definitely saw that he brought more global eyes to the race, but thought that taking a hard stance on Israel in a place like Michigan probably made a bigger difference. He saw the biggest boost after that became a talking point. 100
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026There are so many reasons to dislike this guy and now we have Republicans doing their best to make me like him. I want to go back to ignoring streamer politics please. 2400
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Yeah because how tf am I gonna run it. I want to but my inference PC is baby 020
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I would argue this was happening even sooner and just became more widespread. The perceived virtue of tolerating things like three guys one hammer or other gore had existed since nasty. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I believe this will be the new "Simpsons did it" in five years tops. My Gen Z nephew said "lock in, get it twisted" last week and he had no idea where he heard it 040
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I disagree with you in principle. But in reality it doesn't matter, since every far right politician or personality I know of has committed some kind of felonious crime! It's all the function of alignment based disenfranchisement with none of the warts! 0211
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Also, thank you for engaging with this kindly and in good faith! I really like learning new things, getting to do that re: LLMs can be hard sometimes without someone just telling me I lose value as a person for using one! So I can't overstate how much I appreciate you giving me something to think on. 011
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I'm mostly saying the opposite, really. To be, it feels like a "revolutionary" thing because I have no exposure to it. That doesn't make it actually revolutionary. I'm trying to explain the point of view here, not say it's correct. 110
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I think you're missing what I said here. I didn't make any assessment of whether an AI is a person. I'm saying that folks like Paul or myself say that or will change the way we perceive humanity and cognition is because they've NEVER HAD TO THINK ABOUT IT. I'm not saying he's right. 100
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Tl;dr "many tech bros have never had to carefully consider what they view as a person because they never had to take humanities" 040
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026If you've never been forced to really carefully think of "what do I consider to be a person" it feels pretty groundbreaking. If you have already been forced to consider that question from another experience (war, philosophy, ethics) then I'd imagine it's less groundbreaking. 240
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I think the reason many people (myself included) see it as a massive shift because it's caused them to grapple with what they understand as a "being", "human" or "conscious". Which is ultimately a philosophical question that has existed forever, but I've personally never grappled with. 220
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Is this only in the codex harness itself? I'm assuming so, since it works great there. 000
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 04/09/2026If you hate AI, see that post, and do anything but internally go "huh, I hope that person is ok because that's crazy to me" you're just an asshole. Even I, as a person who uses it often, looked and said "that's a bit much maybe". Then I just moved on! Legal to do this! 0110
Boondock @boondock.bsky.social · 03/09/2026I've argued this for years. Mandating bare minimum pro social activity like vaccination and charity hours for social service jobs (like policing) would select out so many awful people. 061
