iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

She remembers you fondly, John. Like she supported George, she continues to bolster me. My dream is to get you all in a room together…where I could expire from smiling.

Love that George Saunders gave a shout-out to Cheryl Lindbloom in his National Book Award for Distinguished Contributions to American Letters speech. She was one of my favorite teachers in high school. (George and I graduated from the same high school.)

You know I did! She lit up. What a delight, and her love for you spilled onto me.

@kaaauthor.bsky.social @mrschureads.bsky.social #AISLEd Having a book signed by John Schu then signed by Katherine Applegate—a one and only experience. “I just texted John this morning.”

Reflection was disco-ball-fun when @meaganmacdonald.bsky.social & @erikainka.bsky.social presented @mirrortalk.ai at IDEAcon. Total thinking and learning bash! Not surprised to see @andrea-trudeau.bsky.social loving it.

Believe me, she hated to miss you. I gave her a signed hardcover copy of LTH last year and she was bouncing.

Speaking of amazing, this OF grad went to Broadway in The Book of Mormon after his role in The Producers at The Paramount. Your buddy Jodie Hausken and I fangirled so hard from the first row. His name? Jake, of course. Jake Morrissy.

I’d happily cash in all Marriott Bonvoy points for the Schu Suite upgrade!

Our Oak Forest HS library secretary surprised her son with NYC and Broadway for spring break. She whisper-winked “capacious” to access the John Schu shelf at NY Marriott Marquis. @mrschureads.bsky.social

Amy would come up with the coolest wedding vows! In The Space Between is by Sue Poncin, an OFHS math teacher just like her mom Geri Biggs was when you were there. Her story aired on NBC last night:

She would’ve loved it. AKR continues to inspire me. I’ll never delete her contact from my phone. Her time was too short but not short of extraordinary.
