I did not even think about it. But it's a great! Could never quite settle on a font for the display, but now I can use one of the display fonts I have installed. … with a slight modification, I added an additional declarative; input#searchbar, p.suggest-result to make the search more legible.

If you're a Firefox user, you've probably noticed this annoying box the browser automatically adds to Bonjourr. You should know that if you have the will, it is removable thanks to the userchrome.css file. We've just added the snippet to remove it to our documentation: bonjourr.fr/docs/faq/#re...

Bonjourr · Startpage for Firefox & Chrome @bonjourr.fr · 18/05/2026

It’s limitation of how browser extensions are implemented, both in Chrome and Firefox. Essentially, the new tab will use the default icon of the extension at first before any of our code is executed, which means before we are able to change anything.

I added a blog section to my site and posted my first article today! It's about a small script I made to export data from Stripe. Got a few more ideas to write on, I'll probably be using the blog to document stuff I do that might be of use to other people. Been wanting to do this for a while 🤗

You might have noticed that Chrome now forces the bookmarks bar to appear on new tab pages, even if said bookmarks bar is disabled in your settings. We've looked into it, and there currently seems to be no way to fully disable it. Hopefully it's just a bug and Google reverses course.

Bonjourr running on Chrome 148, notice the bookmarks bar at the top even though it's disabled.

I've been trying out a new "frame mode" feature in Bonjourr that allows you to fit an entire image in a frame, so you can see the whole thing without cropping. Could be cool for a movie posters setup, or maybe if you want to use your phone's portrait photos. No ETA but I'm pretty excited about it!

Nice! Looks super clean. Thank you for being so transparent about it being a fork of Bonjourr (you're even keeping our donate link in Yako, that's huge!!), really appreciate it especially as we weren't that lucky with the previous forks we got 😅 Wishing you good luck for the project!

I've never used Vivaldi, but possibly. Bonjourr has been dynamically setting a theme-color meta tag (which is the standard for this kind of feature) since 22.1. If Vivaldi uses the standard, then there's a good chance it'll work :)

Bonjourr · Startpage for Firefox & Chrome @bonjourr.fr · 29/04/2026

Yeah. I've been running the extension for a week or so and it's great for the rest of the Internet, just frustrating that we can't get it to work with Bonjourr. Oh well 😬

This is Bonjourr running with Adaptive Tab Bar Color, a Firefox extension that allows you to change the color of the top bar depending on the content of the page. Absolutely love this, but unfortunately due to how new tabs are compartmentalized, it only works when you open Bonjourr as a web page :(
