Meeting tomorrow. Had my agent for less than a month and I've been on submission less than a month. My stomach HURTS in the best way right now.

Me holding in gas after knowing I had NO dmned business gulping down two big ass cups of iced coffee. #coffeeaddict #bluesky #writingcommunity #writesky Would call it temporary insanity as I wait to hear back from editors. But imma do it again tomorrow.

Thought it was smooth sailing after surviving the #QueryTrenches Turns out, I just unlocked a new, advanced level of anxiety

Chile... My agent had me do some rush revisions because I am officially 'on submission' in the next day or so (fingers crossed). My anxiety said 'hey bitch, remember me?' #WritingCommnity #Booksky #BlackWriters #LiteraryHorror #SpeculativeHorror #BlackSky

My first piece with Hushmarrow Press just went live! I get to nerd out on Southern Gothic messiness, and talk about the reasons as to why Southern Gothic has been my first love since I was a little girl (which was probably kinda weird for a 7 year old.) #WritingCommunity #AuthorLife #SouthernGothic

I had my first writings on DA back in like 2005! Oh my gosh… I think I just cringed harder at those memories. Fortunately, I lost my log in to that lol

Was it on… blogspot or Wordpress? And yeah, I think if mine were released, it would become my villain origin story 😂

I’m gonna need a couple more sips of something strong, but I’m gonna do it… tomorrow. Because ✨procrastination ✨

Those migraines are no joke. I haven’t had them in a while, but I remember some of them lasting for days on end. I had to sleep sitting up

Elbow deep in Vietnam War research for my new Southern Gothic folk-horror WIP, set in 1969 Alabama. Military stories never interested me, but add rootwork, Black Panther-adjacent protagonists and a pathological liar who's also the neighborhood witch? Whew BAY-BEE. #AmWriting #FolkHorror #ProjectWar

In other news, I grabbed a can of tuna fish from the cabinet to make a tuna sandwich. Two bites in, I realized it tasted funny. Because it was cat food. I put mayonnaise in cat food. And ate it. #catsofbluesky #fml #wtf

Received an offer from a publisher. Not quite sure what to do with myself. Stunned. Utterly. (Mind you, still unagented.) Suprisingly, no gas toots yet. Meeting with acquisitions next week. #WritingCommunity #AmQuerying #BlackWriters #LiteraryHorror

"Funny" how all these AI claims are against Black authors. You mean to tell me that this author passed numerous rounds of scrutiny between agents, editors and the like...and NOW "suspected AI" Nah. Suspected Racial bias. Now, ANOTHER hurtle to deal with #WritingCommunity #AmWriting

Man, the anxiety toots that ensued when I got a full request from a pretty fancy lit agency I wasn’t sure I had a chance at… epic. I could have taken off to outer space. Or…it was the coffee. Either way 😩💨💨💨💨 #AmWriting #BlackWriters #Blacksky #WritingCommunity #LiteraryHorror

Being Black in America and being able to trace my family back this far has humbled me beyond words. My father's side, a matriarch, likely. I'll have to call my dad to ask her name.

Did a deep dive into my family on my father's side, found my great grandfather, Raymond (whose spirit is all up and through my house, I leave whiskey out for him) and his brothers, my uncles. All of them just HANDSOME.
