i did this a while ago but never posted it because i felt called out 😅but anyway, have a personality test:
it's a poster. at the top it says, "turtle. your test results. your personality type is: ground."

innate personality: i'm almost there! you hurt my feelings. drowsy. i'm the savior of the world! yeah, we'll see.

character traits: loving yet cruel, hate repeating themselves, perfectionist, idealist, animal-like vibe, homebody, dark circles, forgiving, reluctant but always get things done.

most compatible: fire, water.

least compatible: steel, wind.

at the bottom of the poster is a black footer with the event details: taiwan design expo '23 in New Taipei City. 10.05 Friday to 10.22 Sunday. Check out the Electric energy hub: (chinese symbols i can't translate).

okay, i have to share this wonderful sketch commission the amazing @maybarros.com.br did for my current WIP (a m/m fantasy serial)! i cannot wait to share this story with you all, but for now here's Scholar Ash (left) and Lord Juniper (right) after their extremely impromptu wedding:
Scholar Ash on the left smiles widely and rests his head on Lord Juniper's shoulder. Scholar Ash has long black hair tied back in a braid, a darker skin tone, and light, loose-fitting clothes with an embroidered vest on top. Lord Juniper is hugging Ash, looking very happy. Lord Juniper is taller and lighter-skinned than Ash, with long curly hair, a sweet smile, lots of jewelry, and a plain wool shirt.

hi, i've written a little speculative flash fiction for the #vgen monthly challenge (trying to get artist+ access)! so if you want to read about mirrors being more than mirrors, check out the story here: boneturtle.me#mirrors ! intro to the story:
Also Me: for VGen's monthly challenge prompt, mirrors. The sales rep on the other end of the phone call sounds self-assured, almost smug. Suspiciously so. “And you’re absolutely sure there are no portals attached to them?” I ask.
“Of course, all of our mirrors are certified portal-free!” He’s so confident, carefree. He clearly hasn’t seen enough.
“So, if I look at the mirror, I’m not going to get trapped inside?”
“Absolutely not.”
“And if I touch the mirror, nothing’s going to happen?”
“That’s right.”
“And if my dancers look at it, or touch it, nothing’s going to happen to them either?”
“Nope. Like I said, all our mirrors go through a rigorous testing process, and they come with a money-back guarantee.”
That sounds ominous. “So if one of my dance crew gets pulled in you’ll…what?”

without downloading any new images, where are you mentally?
A whimsical illustration of a forest in muted greens and browns and golds with a circular door in the center that says "fuck off. No humans." This door is surrounded by three squat gray boulders drawn with sleepy faces to show that they are the guardians of the door.

#summerofstory i love specificity in stories i read and write; a few specific details can convey so much more than a whole page of description. i usually have to edit multiple times until i get the level of specificity i'm looking for, but i think it's always worthwhile! an example from my new wip:
this is a sample from a short story, white text on a black background. the text reads: A week later, late-afternoon sun trailed through the studio windows, dappling everything in rainbowed light. It was warm, and Avery’s mind had started to wander while she read to the sound of Georgia plucking her harp strings. It was a familiar song, something from the days when bards traveled the country, harps on their backs, spreading the fantastical stories they’d gathered along the road.
This particular tale was the myth of the dream-eaters, monsters said to prey on nightmares and follow their hosts into the waking world. Georgia’s low voice hummed the melody as Avery’s eyes slipped closed.
