Finished touching up my landing page, plus added an about page, which will link to an interactive form of the roadmap soon. Added a waitlist confirmation email which will contain a link to download the Year 0 doc, which I am formatting today. #buildinpublic #musicsky
A vertical mobile landing page for the music platform “MxTp.” The top displays the MxTp logo above bold headline text reading “Kill the industry. Keep the music.” Below, descriptive copy explains it is an artist-first music platform focused on ending corporate greed, emphasizing “Your music. Your terms. Your money.” An email input field labeled “Enter your email” and an orange “Join the waitlist now” button follow. The lower section features a stylized illustration of a cassette tape with “MxTp” scrawled across it and an orange “Learn more” button. The footer reads “© 2026 MxTp LLC.”A vertical mobile webpage for the music platform “MxTp.” The page begins with the MxTp logo and a heading reading “What is MxTp?” followed by several paragraphs explaining MxTp as an artist-first music service focused on fair pay, innovation, and new monetization features. A section titled “Ready to learn more?” invites users to join the waitlist in exchange for a downloadable roadmap document, with an email input field and an orange “Join the waitlist now” button. Below, a heading asks “Just want to see the roadmap?” above a stylized cassette tape illustration labeled “MxTp” and an orange “Check it out now” button. The footer displays “© 2026 MxTp LLC.”

Greatly simplified my landing page today. Removed everything except what you see here. The Learn More button doesn't go anywhere yet, but will go to the main info page. The doc I've been working on this month will also live on that page probably. #buildinpublic #musicsky

As an outsider, I have very little knowledge of the music business, other than what I've gained anecdotally over the years. I've no idea of the quality of this book, but I have to imagine it will at least be enlightening? #music #musicbusiness #musicsky #buildinpublic

Working on the editor canvas for my site builder today. Implemented zoom & pan functionality, including the button & menu in the footer. I can't decide if I like it better with or without the gridlines? They're visual guides only. What do you think? #buildinpublic

Updating the landing page for stickerch.art got me thinking about the editor control for charts, and how I could improve it. I want to add it to the landing page so users can see the customizations from there, but it needs some work first. #buildinpublic

Still working on the release form for MxTp. In the past I used react-select to create a multi-select genre tagging component. I re-used some of what I did then, plus updated the styling now that I know more about it. I'm pleased with it! Tracks are next. #buildinpublic
Music release details form on MxTp showing fields for release title, release type dropdown, release date with calendar icon, optional UPC/EAN, optional catalog number, and a text area to tell fans about the release. Below the form are selected genre tags: 'Electronic,' 'Ambient,' and 'Ambient dub,' each with an orange remove button.

After meticulously reading the account docs for Stripe, and doing a bit of tinkering with what worked and what didn't, Connect onboarding is integrated. Form is about as close as I could get it with their appearance options. Working on releases now. #buildinpublic
MxTp payment info setup page, step 3 of 4. A notice says payment info is stored securely with Stripe and not on MxTp. Section titled 'Verify your personal details' includes form fields for legal name, email address (filled with rhesusattack@gmail.com
), date of birth, home address (country, street, apartment, city, state, zip code), phone number, and last 4 digits of Social Security number (masked except 8888). At the bottom right is an orange 'Continue' button

Didn't make as much progress as I wanted to today. But I did tighten up a few things related to the menus, and adjusted the artist onboarding progress indicator. Tomorrow hoping to properly dig into Stripe Connect. #buildinpublic

Got the first couple of pages of artist onboarding in today. Still working on the form for the basic info page, but it's not much more than what's there. Also will need to go back and add all the ToS stuff once I have it. I'm pleased with how this is looking. #buildinpublic
MxTp artist sign-up page showing step 1 of 4: Terms of Service. Header reads 'Everything you need to know about being an artist on MxTp.' Three key points are listed: 'You own all rights to everything you upload here,' 'You take most of the money, forever,' and 'You control the pricing.' A button below says 'Expand to read full artist terms of service.' At the bottom is a checkbox to agree to the MxTp artist terms of use, an input field labeled 'Artist name,' and a disabled gray 'Create artist profile' button.MxTp account setup page showing a progress bar with four steps: 1. Ended up creating a separate project to do a proper testbed for my customized emails. But I'm much happier with how they look now. The user creation & sign-in is in a really good spot now. I also have an invitation system. Now for the artist onboarding.... #buildinpublic
MxTp invitation email. Large graffiti-style MxTp logo at the top. Header text reads 'You have been invited to join MxTp.' Body text describes MxTp as an independent music platform free from corporate greed, advertiser pressure, or VC influence, supporting artists in earning a living wage. Orange button labeled 'Create Your Account Now.' Below, text instructs users to copy the invitation code if not automatically populated. Expiration date shown as 10/6/2025, 1:13:01 PM. Section at the bottom labeled 'Invitation Code' displays the code.

Was able to throw together a quick manager for generating and seeing active invitations in mxtp.gg. Just for me for now, but will probably extend this functionality to artists in the future so they can send them themselves. #buildinpublic
MxTp Invitation Manager page. The account email 'grsgllc@gmail.com

I'll spend the first half of my day marketing sticker chart. I now have daily marketing activities built into my weekly notes template. This way I know what marketing to do each day. Today is a blog post, and a newsletter to go with it (though I have no subscribers atm).
Checklist for Monday with two sections. 'Daily Goals' includes Goal 1, Goal 2, and Goal 3. 'Marketing Activities' includes sticker chart blog post, keyword research, and sticker chart newsletter with parenting tips. All checkboxes are empty.

I ran my existing landing page through Claude, and asked it to critique it, knowing who my target audience is. It gave me this diagram, along with some feedback about what exactly I was missing. I then went through, building out each section, before putting it all together.
A landing page flow chart outlining the structure for converting visitors. The page begins with an ATTENTION section featuring a header and hero. The INTEREST and DESIRE sections introduce a problem, then a solution preview. TRUST is built through a key benefits section, social proof, and feature explanations. The final ACTION section includes a pricing table, a clear call to action, and a footer.

(more pics attached here) This new page is WAY more verbose. It's just got a lot more copy on it. This is mostly for SEO purposes. I'm focusing on some specific keywords that I think my audience might be searching for, which I researched using google keywords planner.
Parenting website content showing two sections: "Strengthens Family Bonds & Reduces Conflict" with benefits like peaceful routines and quality family time, and "Creates Structure That Works for Everyone" highlighting self-managing children and consistent routines. Includes two parent testimonials with 5-star ratings from Sarah M. (mother of 3) and David R. (father of 2) describing positive transformations. Bottom text reads "Designed for Real Families, Real Life" and "Every feature built with busy parents and motivated kids in mind."A marketing page for the "One Tool, Endless Possibilities" app. The page is divided into three sections: "One Tool, Endless Possibilities" describes how the app allows for personalized charts for different children and goals; "Make It Theirs, Make It Work" details customization options like personal names, sticker themes, custom colors, and chart sizing; and "Success Feels Amazing, New Goals Feel Exciting" explains features like instant recognition, celebration moments, and the option to start a fresh chart to maintain motivation.
A marketing page for a family app. The first section, "Stay Connected, Stay Involved," describes a secure, read-only sharing feature that allows family members to view a child's progress. It lists features like one-click sharing, read-only access, multi-device compatibility, and parent controls. The section also highlights family benefits, such as independent progress checks for children and safe sharing for separated or extended families. The second section, "Everything You Need, Nothing You Don't," is a checklist of app features, including complete customization, instant celebrations, safe sharing, fresh starts, multi-device access, and parent control. The final sections are "Common Questions from Concerned Parents" with a clickable button and a call to action, "Ready to Transform Your Family Dynamic?".A marketing page for an app, showing pricing plans and a final call to action. The page presents two plans: a Weekly Plan for $0.99/week and a Lifetime Access plan for a one-time payment of $14.99. The weekly plan is described as perfect for trying out the app, with features like unlimited charts, full customization, inclusion of all family members, and the ability to cancel anytime. The lifetime plan is labeled as the "most popular choice" and a "family investment," highlighting that the user "never pays again" and it is the "best value." Below the plans, there is a red button that says "START YOUR FREE WEEK NOW." The bottom of the page includes social media icons and a copyright notice.

My reel yesterday took off. However, it jumped to 300 views, then stopped completely. Is this because of lack of engagement? I think I need to shorten my reels and engineer them to get more engagement while still grabbing with a hook. #buildinpublic
A line graph titled "Views over time" compares the performance of a specific Instagram reel (shown in bright pink) to typical reel views (shown as a dashed gray line). The x-axis represents time from 0 to 24 hours, and the y-axis represents view count, ranging from 0 to 300. The pink line shows a sharp spike to nearly 300 views within the first hour and then levels off, indicating no further growth. The gray dashed line rises steadily, reaching just under 150 views by 24 hours. Three filter buttons labeled "All," "Followers," and "Non-followers" appear above the graph, with "All" selected.

Confirmed that the auth callback endpoint is being called twice when I click the link in my email. I honestly don't know what is causing this, and it's pretty frustrating to encounter on a Thursday afternoon before a launch. #buildinpublic

A dark-themed log snippet displays two entries from May 22, both occurring at 16:30:19.78. Each entry shows a GET request to www.subskribe.art resulting in a 302 status code. The second entry also shows the same redirect path but includes a warning about debug-enabled and a link to https://warnings.auth0.dev.

Spent most of my morning tightening up some UI components, feedback during saves, cleaning up the editor toolbar a bit, added a legend, and adding the ability to delete charts. Still need to do the paywall, but I guess that's most of what's left at this point. #buildinpublic

Now the agent recognizes when it can't connect to the server and displays a noti accordingly. Also added the ability to click error notifications to open a feedback form, which I have not yet implemented. #buildinpublic

It's funny you mentioned that, because that's the exact way I built it. 😅 I also need the ability to block certain things at certain times, but allow them at other times.

A successful test at last! Took longer than I thought, the auth piece gave me trouble. Next is adding a leaderboard for rule violators, and the ability to opt out of said leaderboard. #buildinpublic

Tbh this book is full of gems. Share your trade secrets, tell good stories, do a little every day, etc. But the one that really stuck out to me was "no guilty pleasures." If you like something, own it!

I'm getting this error when my web app redirects back to the agent after authentication. I'm not sure yet how to address where it's trying to open from, but I'll have to dig further into it tomorrow.

You may notice that I'm posting updates more often. I took a break from Will to Change to start reading this book, which right away prompted me to start being more verbose about my development efforts. The book is good, and to the point, so I def recommend! #buildinpublic

I changed the weekday picker on the settings page too. I have more changes to the UI that I'll come back to, but for now I'm pivoting to the local agent and the browser extension components.
