We've been officially recognised as an outstanding performer for a screening test that identifies a sight-threatening eye condition in preterm babies. An annual audit by the NNAP found Bolton had a screening rate of 95.9%, significantly above the national average of 80%.

Our new Emergency Department testing programme for blood borne viruses has helped to diagnose dozens of people living with HIV and Hepatitis. During the first three months, we conducted 7,604 HIV tests, 7,621 Hepatitis B tests and 7,591 Hepatitis C tests.
