Until sometime around the 1960s (varies by state and city of course) there were basically no limits on housing density. When a bunch of new people wanted to move in, builders could knock down houses and build apt buildings in their place. There were downsides to that! But it kept prices in check.

Yeah and being six months ahead doesn’t even matter anymore. GLM 5.3 is good enough for most tasks for most people. I don’t know of any use I’ve ever had that Fable could do but GLM couldn’t.
