So... Pokémon XY is still the best animated Pokémon series, yeah?

I'm getting back into Pokémon Go and I would really like a Gengar day, please.

The iPhone Duo does look like an awesome foldable, but I'm not really surprised.

I have canceled my Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 pre-order. Game seems completely fine, but CoD in general just doesn't feel fun anymore. Glad I gave the beta a try, at least.

I'd write a whole article right now if I could (I might in the future 👀), but I think I just had my "Fuck this game" moment with Forza Horizon 6. Seems simple, but losing a car tune—that I spent a fair bit of time on—MONTHS after it was saved sucks so much.

It seems I will hit 200,000 XBOX Gamerscore this year. 👀 I wonder what game will cross the threshold.

I've started to work on something really big for myself. Maybe the biggest for me as a writer. I'm just really excited to move forward with this. Aaaaaaand maybe, if I'm lucky, a few other people will be really excited when I'm ready to reveal it.

Honestly, I'm so close to dropping Forza Horizon 6 until the expansions come out. The monthly Festival Playlist updates are the same boring, iterative releases we've seen for three games now, and I'm simply disappointed at the lack of improvement or innovation.

I'm actually playing GTA V for the first time right now, and I'm having a blast. Oh, this game is 13 years old, alright, and I have my issues... but I get it now.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

I've already encountered 2 annoying bugs in Halo: Campaign Evolved. First, all cinematics were just black screens and audio until I restarted the game and my save. Next, I got caught in a checkpoint death loop that made me restart an entire mission.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

AC Black Flag Resynced is very good. In many ways, it's better than the original. There are areas where Ubisoft could've pushed further with quality-of-life improvements (why isn't there an option to edit your fleet when you take a new ship?), but I'm having a lot of fun.

Am I the only one who misses Accolades and the Global Leaderboard in Forza Horizon 6? Feels like they could've had their new campaign progression AND kept FH5-like evolving Accolades.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is still one of the best games I've ever played.

The latest Samsung update broke my Watch8 Classic with constant ghost calls, rapid battery drain, and regular "Reset your watch to connect to your phone" notifications. This also happened to my Watch6 Classic, both times conveniently not long before Samsung's July event. Sigh.

Why is basically EVERY game coming out in September. Did we all just forget August and October exist?

Alan Wake 2 might be my favorite Resident Evil game.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

The XBOX Games Showcase was really great. Halo, Fable, Plague Tale, Senua (terrible name), Magicians, Bad Magpie, and Vivarium especially spoke to me. Ending on CoD was a bad move, I think, but stellar show in general. XBOX is killing it, lately.

I've completed nine games this month. Maybe I should find another super short game just to make it an even 10. 😂

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

Luna Abyss has been a very pleasant surprise, so far. Super cool atmosphere, story, and gameplay progression.

010

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 24/05/2026

Forza Horizon 6 has been consuming my life and I'll still be playing it regularly, but I still have lots of other games to check out. Luna Abyss has caught my attention, recently, so that might be next.

The whole "no sharing passwords" movement by streaming services will NEVER persuade me to subscribe to a single one. I'll just move on.

I'm about to start another short game because I just want to play FH6 but I have to wait 13 more hours. 🫠

As good as the Xbox mode for PC handhelds is becoming, it's still a really, really long way from the consistent convenience and stability of the Xbox console experience. I hope the next-gen Xbox nails the software.

Frieren would be a perfect show if it was clearer. For some reason, Frieren gets so blurry all of the time. 🫠

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

Everything I've seen of Crimson Desert puts me in three minds: "Do Everything: The Game" simply cannot work the way so many believe it should, I really want to play this game for 700 hours and I'm not sure why, and I'd rather take an acid bath than learn these asinine controls.

000

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 21/03/2026

Some update made the "Enter" button on my phone just send texts instead of making a new paragraph, and I can't find an option to go back, and this is clearly the worst day of my entire life. 😭

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 16/03/2026

I started Resident Evil Requiem, and it's amazing, but I'll be honest: I've been spending most of my time lately playing TCG Card Shop Simulator on Xbox, and I have zero regrets.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 08/03/2026

I'm finally looking into Pokémon Pokopia and it's so immediately clear how much the developers love both Pokémon and the "life sim" genre Animal Crossing falls under. The attention to detail is amazing. I want to play this.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

It's so hard to get back into an older game to play new DLC. I often bounce off completely and never return. Exactly why I'm waiting for the expansion to drop to play DOOM: The Dark Ages.

Zachary Boddy @boddyzachary.bsky.social · 01/03/2026

Pokémon Gen 10 and those adorable starters are making me consider a Switch 2. 🫠 I hope an OLED variant is released next year alongside these games, that'll make the decision easier. 😂

The only Shannara book by @terrybrooks.bsky.social I haven't read yet is Galaphile, but the paperback is a different size and layout to every other book in the series. 😭 It looks so out of place on my shelf. 🥲

The First Druids of Shannara: Galaphile and The Fall of Shannara: The Last Druid paperbacks compared to each other.

I watched Markiplier's Iron Lung for my birthday. It was honestly better than I expected — not perfect, but overall a seriously enjoyable horror movie with great suspense and direction. I hope Iron Lung enjoys enough success to allow Mark to do more like this.

There are countless reasons to criticize generative AI, but I especially hate how skeptical I've become any time I see a new photo or video online. Suspicion makes wonder impossible, and that makes life less interesting.

I completed 24 games and 20 DLC in 2025. Definitely not a huge number, but a lot happened — and 2026 is already kicking my butt. 😅 Here are my top three games of 2025: 🥇 Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 🥈 Keeper 🥉 ROUTINE As always, I'll keep track of my 2026 completions here. 🔥

It was weird watching the Xbox Developer_Direct as a fan and not as Windows Central, but I can now say I loved every game Xbox showed off. I'm so, so, SO excited for Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, especially.

Last week, I was impacted by layoffs and learned I'm no longer part of the @windowscentral.com team, and I spent a rough few days processing. Now, I'm looking forward to whatever the future holds. Be it writing, PR, or something else entirely, I'm searching for my next commitment.

Obsidian was Xbox's undisputed MVP of 2025. Playground could be stepping up to the plate this year, if Fable and FH6 actually release in 2026.

I want to know, and you can tell me... How many video games have you completed? Not simply played — I mean stories finished and credits rolled.

Netflix acquiring Warner Bros. seems like a bad idea. Disney 2.0.
