Got to stop in at a retro game con today and clear out a bunch of my wishlist!! Snagged a hell of a lot of great games I’ve been wanting to check out for ages. Was super stoked to find a gameboy player for the gamecube also!!!

I absolutely love working through some initial level layouts for a complex level. Working on one of my ideas for a "Puzzle box" style level and realizing that at initial glance it looks completely indesipherable haha. Going to be a fun challenge making it all work in a way that players can figureout

One of the main inspiration I really want to pull from with these guys is the Dola Pirates from Castle in the Sky! The sort of goofy humor even tho they are pirates will be present, and their main armament will tend to be the lil grenade/shell launcher. Love the tube launcher weapons they used!

Continuing my concept art work on the bandit group! Got the main portion sketched out, next up is the equipment/weapons and bonus details such as expressions!

One of the things I've learned over time is that making some extra tools to help level layout work go faster is an absolute boon. Been working on creating a stair tool that allows me to quickly setup a modular flight of stairs that matches my game metrics. Likewise a matching set of modular railing!

Working on cleaning up Bod's movement just a bit. Getting some better additive animations for his turns, likewise I've also added in a bit of slope adjustment so that Bod leans back when going down slopes while leaning forward when going up a slope!

Good lord we have a lot of stickers XD. Trying to play around with some ideas on how to display it all. Got some sticker stands, but already we can tell that even with just 1 of each sticker this thing is packed. Looking for some feedback on what folks prefer. Sticker stand or board display?

FInally putting in some time to get some concept art done on my lil bandit group for the game. Absolutely love the initial design I had done for the Bandits, so it's been pretty fun to finally flesh them out with some concept art!

Dealing With It part 7 Ah the joys of trying to shower with a packed gut. Moving, bending, twisting. All of them become much harder to do when your midsection is filling half the space. Plus all that belly just means you have a hell of a lot more surface area to clean....

I can never resist one of these memes haha. There have been so many amazing games over the years that I absolutely adore and some big ones had to be left out of this group. But these 9 will always hold a very special place in my heart and really set the types of games I enjoy most for years now.

It's always so funny how much a boss battle can change how you view games in general. This guy permanently seared a memory in my head the first time I fought him in Megaman Legends. Having a boss that is part of the world/ruins and only becomes activated once your leaving.
