Had a couple of old high school buddies playing last night so the wife and I hit up Crooners and The Aster Cafe for some tunes. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday

Update: Long term insurance was approved.

If you've ever had to work on getting your parents long term insurance rolling I sympathize with you. They made my 88 year old mom jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops yesterday on a 100 minute video meeting. It's really shameful how insurance companies operate.

Reading about the LIV golf bankruptcy and the one thing that surprises me is that Bryson and Rahm both were still owed money. I would have thought their agents would have been smart enough to get all the cash in their pockets ASAP. Granted it looks like they got 95% of their money.

Okay. Now the Twins are probably cooked.

Bob Pickering @bobpickering.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

On Sunday I assumed the Twins were cooked. Swept by the Phillies and the Braves coming to town. With baseball you just never know.

Angie Craig all but destroyed her political career and I doubt we will hear from her again but let's focus on Tafoya because she's a total MAGA nutjob. Oh yeah...a F**k Tom Emmer. I know he's not going anywhere but we don't make his life miserable enough.

We had David Z into our studio in 1995 to produce Jonny Lang’s Lie to Me album. It was the first project that I was around that involved a major label so we were nervous as hell. A very cool experience and we were lucky to have him around for a few more albums. RIP sir .

The MN Twins play like garbage against the Royals.

Tom Emmer is a trash human being.

T-Wolves with the big trade. Let's hope this isn't Marbury Pt. 2. It'll either go well or blow up in our face like that did.

This afternoon is another prime example of how bad the MN Twins bullpen is. Can we fire Derek Falvey again?

Watching all the clips of Rush playing last night. The smiles on Geddy and Alex's faces throughout the night are infectious. Anika Nilles sounds fantastic as well.

There are certain games where the Twins bullpen is so bad you'd hope they just send everyone back to St. Paul when it's over.

Way back in the early 90's I was an assistant engineer at a local recording studio. Brian walked in to do his first few songs with his band on what would become his One Time, One Life album. Still proud to call him a friend. www.startribune.com/gb-leighton-...

Is it time to take Twin Cities bar band G.B. Leighton seriously?

Eller in Zeppo is fantastic. Also, he is in the Shabby Road Orchestra which might be one of the coolest late era Beatles tributes you'll ever see.

We won. Nobody feels great about how we played but in the NBA the next game is rarely like the one before it. We wanted to be 2-2 so let’s regroup for Tuesday.

Bob Pickering @bobpickering.bsky.social · 11/05/2026

If we lose this game Julius Randle needs to be traded. It’s disgusting how bad he’s playing since Wemby was ejected

The T-Wolves held 5 teams to under 100 points during the regular season. They did it 3 times in this Denver series.

That was the best played Timberwolves game I’ve seen in the 35 years I’ve watched them. Can they keep it up?

I didn't realize how bad the Mets are. The Twins are lucking out a bit on who they are playing this month.

Bob Pickering @bobpickering.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

What was said to Jarren Duran was awful. But don't assume it was from a Twins fan. Having been to a number of Red Sox games at Target Field the crowd is usually made up of about 40% RSox fans. And if you've ever been to Fenway Park (i have) the fans can be cruel, brutal and tasteless.

Seeing the LIV golf league collapse is fantastic. The Saudi's lost almost $6B on the deal. Which is nothing in the big picture to them but it's safe to say their pride is damaged. Sometimes you can't buy your way into anything you want.

It was nice to see KG back in the building last night for the T-Wolves. It was a shame that we couldn't build a championship team around him but I'm glad he got that title in Boston. He certainly deserved it.

Cheers to the UK for banning Kanye from their country. And whoever was putting together that festival is a moron for thinking that they could get away with booking him in the first place.

I saw Heart last night. While Ann can't hit the really big notes anymore she was still in good voice and both sisters were in excellent spirits. The band sounds massive with 4 guitar players. They did a version of The Rain Song that was killer.

Having been around in 1980 for the Miracle on Ice win, I'll just say that today's Gold Medal isn't anywhere near as cool. That being said the hockey games overall were a lot of fun to watch. Ladies and Men's were both fantastic the last few games.

So far Tom Pohlad is coming off as a moron. As a long time season ticket holder (who got way less games this year) I would surprised if we over 70 games.

The MN Twins knew they were going to be bad this year and their solution to this is "cheap beer". I suspect the family friendly aspect of the stadium will take a hit with more drunk 20 something's in the stands than normal.
