Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 21hIt's been closer than that in recent times. This represents a widening. 110
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 23hYeah exactly. The public have historically been completely ignorant about what it is. Yesterday YouGov did a poll which showed that more people believed that pensions were LESS generous now than 40 years ago, than believed they were more generous. Unbelievable. 040
Reposted by Robin SmithPoet Sue @poetsue.bsky.social · 29/09/2026This is big news because this was the most contentious policy. I think many people don't understand the triple lock so this number might increase if people really understood that the impact might be 1 or 2% and if inflation is high the pension will go up by that amount. 182
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 23hThese are actually unbelievable results. Andy Burnham has found a way to end the triple lock which even 43% of boomers support. (Number goes up to 80% when you don't mention that they will have to help pay for it 😆). Guaranteed vote for Burnham from me next election. #UKPolitics #Burnham 021
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026Haven't watched it yet but finally a PM that I can actually stand to listen to. Couldn't listen to either of the previous two. 000
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026No lol. I get PIP. It goes up with inflation, that's good enough. 000
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026Yep exactly. "Oh no, pensions will increase slightly less quickly every year than they do currently" The public: "Pensions are less generous today than they were 20 years ago." Ffs. 111
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026I despair. People fundamentally don't understand the triple lock. Otherwise, let's just apply a triple lock to PIP payments too? Thought not. 110
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026This is short-sighted. Developers will LOVE this. Means that they can charge more. 010
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026Clearly, as a resource allocation issue pensions should be increased less quickly because the endpoint is that pensions will account for 100% of the budget. 101
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 29/09/2026Pensions ARE welfare. But this is good to see from Labour members. 000

Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 26/09/2026Totally agreed. There's no chance for Labour to have a consistent, believable message on this when easy headlines like this are allowed. 010

Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 23/09/2026Thank you. These people don't look beyond the ends of their own noses. And if you ask Greens if they will support nuclear to replace gas, they will say no. 000
Robin Smith @bobin.uk · 23/09/2026So let's fund US and Libya by importing from there then? Good idea. Much better to drill for it ourselves than import. Also, in the meantime you support building more nuclear to replace the gas dependence, right?static.klipy.comAnakin & Padme: Attack of the Clones MemeALT: Anakin & Padme: Attack of the Clones Meme 000
