#OverallThoughts: Netflix's #Below is a perplexing limited series. On one hand, if it were intentionally made to be reminiscent of Roger Corman's later films... they passed with flying colors. If not, then it's just a sloppy series that ultimately spirals into laughably bad territory. Below 6/10

#OverallThoughts: Featuring a solid art style, music, pacing & forgiving challenge, @tophatstudios.bsky.social delivers a Hell of a surprise in #WellDweller that is sure to scratch the itch of any fan of the Metriodvania genre. Well Dweller 9/10

A bloody hand with a birb holding a matchstick of doom in its hand. Off to the left, the words "Well Dweller" - the name for the wonderful Metriodvania style game - in a yellowish font.

#OverallThoughts: Being the first proper sequel in almost 20 years, #MetroidDread tries to capture that same sense of uneasiness that Metroid Fusion had - &, to an extent, it does w/a solid story. Unfortunately, it stumbles along w/ inconsistent mechanics & long loading times. Metroid Dread 8/10

#OverallThoughts: When putting aside a few inconsistencies (hit boxes, damage output) & hellacious RNG for a particular boss, #MetroidFusion is not only a remarkable addition to the franchise but also a top tier title for the GBA. Metroid Fusion (NSO Revisit) 8.5/10

North American Box Art for Nintendo's Metroid Fusion on the GBA.

#OverallThoughts: Whether it's the graphics (for its time), music, story or pacing, Nintendo's #SuperMetroid truly is a magnificent entry in the franchise. The only downside are the frustrations with some mechanics (wall jump, Screw Attack) not always responding. Super Metroid (NSO Revisit) 9/10

Cover Art for Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo.

#OverallThoughts: When it comes to remakes, #MetroidZeroMission is up there as one of the best out there. The issues it has comes from the frustrations of a tiny hit box on a few bosses & getting stuck in death loops. Metroid: Zero Mission (NSO Revisit) 8/10

Cover Art for Metroid: Zero Mission on the Gameboy Advance.

#OverallThoughts: Revelations was a great wrap up for Altaïr's story, & the 2011 animated short film #AssassinsCreedEmbers follows suit for Ezio in an equally heartbreaking manner. Assassin's Creed: Embers 8/10

Old Man Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2 standing with his back to you, contemplating his life in his finally days as his ember slowly fades.

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

#OverallThoughts: When you consider it as the game finale to the "Ezio Trilogy", #AssassinsCreedRevelations is a step above Brotherhood as it contains 2/3 of a really good story. That final third (the Desmond part), however, is an absolute dud. Assassin's Creed: Revelations 7.5/10

Cover Art for Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Featuring Old Man Ezio I his Assassin's gear and the spectre of Altaïr behind him.

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

#OverallThoughts: The original adaptation of #TheRunningMan definitely isn't a technically sound film. With that said, it remains a fun - albeit prophetic - watch with a plentiful amount of cheesy 80's action film goodness. The Running Man (Revisit) 8/10

A black & white photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger giving you the side eye for telling him that smoking cigars isn't allowed.

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

#OverallThoughts: Though the story for #AssassinsCreedBrotherhood is a fine enough continuation to Ezio's story, the game itself unravels the longer you play it thanks to issues w/the camera, controls, pacing & failing "full syncs" even though you completed them. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood 6/10

Cover Art for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - featuring Ezio (front and center) and other random characters trying to do their best at creating an album cover.

#OverallThoughts: Ubisoft's #AssassinsCreedII, for the most part, is a pretty solid start to the Ezio Trilogy. It does, however, falter when it comes to balancing the Ezio/Desmond stories, some dud missions & a horrendous camera. Assassin's Creed II (Revisit) 8/10

Ezio from Assassin's Creed II dressed in white and red gear, arms outstretched from his sides doing his best Michael Jackson pose.

#OverallThoughts: As the finale to his "Shin" trilogy, Hideaki Anno's #ShinKamenRider shares the same flaws as Shin Ultraman - rapid pace, weak VFX, shaky cam - but, ultimately, is a bloody love letter that captures the crazy of the old Kamen Rider episodes. Shin Kamen Rider 7.5/10

Movie Poster for Shin Kamen Rider - featuring a white background and the armoured grasshopper helmet of Kamen Rider as the main focus.

#OverallThoughts: As far as prequels go, the short film #AssassinsCreedLineage does a solid enough job setting up the events for Assassin's Creed 2. The biggest drawback, really, is that there are times it looks like an FMV (i.e. Ripper, 7th Guest). Assassin's Creed: Lineage 7/10

Promo Art for the short film Assassin's Creed: Lineage.

#OverallThoughts: There's a good story idea behind #AssassinsCreedRogue, & reusing assets should have made it a lock. Unfortunately, the execution doesn't land because of repetitive dialogue & the frustration of the parkour/naval battles controls being worse than before. Assassin's Creed Rogue 6/10

Cover Art for Assassin's Creed Rogue - featuring a large ship with red sails in the background & the game's main character in darkly coloured clothes standing in front.

#OverallThoughts: The #Aveline DLC is a short & sweet epilogue not only for Black Flag but also AC3 & Liberation. Aveline handles better than both Edward & Adé, but it is essentially a rescue/escort mission that gets a tad frustrating because of the craziness of the character's AI. Aveline 8/10

000

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

#OverallThoughts: The first DLC to Black Flag - #AssassinsCreedFreedomCry - is a solid add-on that sees Adéwalé liberating Slaves/Maroons of Saint-Domingue. The clunky controls carry over, & putting a set number on slaves liberated for upgrades hurts the impact. Assassin's Creed Freedom 8/10

Cover Art for Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry. The game's main protagonist - Adéwalé from Assassin's Creed: Black Flag - stands front & center in dark coloured Assassin's gear whilst holding a machete & a blunderbuss in either hand.

#OverallThoughts: After revisiting the OG, #AssassinsCreedIVBlackFlag still holds up as one of the best in the franchise. The graphics are dated after thirteen years, but the game's biggest drawback remains the clunky controls with the parkour & ship battles. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag 9/10

Cover Art to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Visually bright with the game's main protagonist - Edward Kenway - dressed in lightly coloured garb & standing over a fallen enemy.

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

#OverallThoughts: Swiss Cheese writing that cause an insanely rushed pace, questionable camera work & use of weak CGI instead of suits & miniatures hurt an otherwise fun callback to the old Ultra shows. #ShinUltraman 6/10

000

BobbyBless219 @bobbybless219.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

#OverallThoughts: Though vibrant & featuring a few moments of brilliance, the latest #MastersoftheUniverse is bogged down by lackluster VFX, pacing issues & cringe worthy dialogue & humor. Masters of the Universe 5/10

Movie Poster for 2026's Masters of the Universe featuring all the important characters of the film. Describing it is pointless, just like the VFX & writing for the film.

#OverallThoughts: 2025's #RedSonja is a disservice to the character as it's an incredibly sloppy film thanks to audio issues, clunky writing, acting, VFX, cinematography and pacing. Red Sonja 4/10

Poster Art for the 2025 film Red Sonja. Featuring the film's star Matilda Lutz in armour and a chainmail bikini top. At the bottom of the background is a fiery arena with a horned Cyclops in the lower left. At the top is a stormy looking sky with the title "Red Sonja" in red.

#OverallThoughts: Much like the first, #AbsoluteFlashVol2 hits every beat that it needs to & feature some great artwork. However, much like the first, the pacing is still both a blessing & a curse as a lot feels left out. Absolute Flash Vol. 2 7/10

Cover Art for Vol. 2 of Absolute Flash: Still Point. The cover features reds, whites, blacks and yellowish browns and sees Wally West battling a large creature.

#OverallThoughts: Though this volume of Lemire's re-imagining of The Scarlet Speedster feels like a lot is cut out as a result of its pacing (many won't like it), there's still enough to make this an enjoyable beginning. #AbsoluteFlashVolume1 7/10

Cover Art for Absolute Flash feature Wally West -this universe's Flash - front and center surrounded by a multitude of reds and yellows.

#OverallThoughts: Project Hail Mary is a very well made film with a terrific performance from Gosling. Though there are brief moments of shaky cam & wonky VFX, the editing - though it does help w/the pacing - isn't my favourite. With that said, it's still a fantastic film. #ProjectHailMary 8.5/10

#OverallThoughts: 9 Years of Shadows is a metriodvania that contains a strong story, pixel art style & music, but sees issues with unbalanced boss battles, a poorly designed healing mechanic & locking its fast travel behind a "pay wall". #9YearsOfShadows 7/10

Europa (a female warrior) standing in a long purple and gold dress with a golden axe in one hand and her companion Apino pressed against her chest. Behind them is a wall of vibrant purples, blues, greens and yellows.

#OverallThoughts: Old Moon's #GhostSong is a slow paced metriodvania with a tedious amount of backtracking & an abrupt vague ending that leaves you with more questions than answers. The game isn't bad, it's more "that was fine" than anything. 6/10

An armoured individual - coloured in various greys - with an arm cannon standing in front of a wooded area on an alien world with different hues of purples & greens.
