I saw this post last night and it’s stuck with me. Kinda sums up the damage that the lack of care has dealt here.

Imagine some jaded MTG fan who just can't stand the
direction of the game recently. The Hat sets, the invasion
of UB into every aspect of the game, it's just not what he
fell in love with. The poor guy is beaten down and
disillusioned with the game.
Then, a ray of sunshine through the clouds. A return to
Lorwyn is announced. Finally, he is excited for a set. We're
going back to a plane from when he was young and the
'magic' in Magic was strong. When he was enamoured
with the world, and the creatures, and the lore. The art,
the concept, the cards. The evocative 'old days' of Magic:
The Gathering, from a more carefree time of his life before
adulthood and the happenings of the world weighed so
heavily on him.
Finally, a set which will remind him of the good days,
where he can play true MTG for a while and forget about
spiderman, racecars, and cheerleaders.
He heads to prerelease, eager to share his excitement
with others.
He opens his kit, ready to explore Lorwyn.
And gets a fucking ninja turtle Imao

Mine are lame because I’m new to Commander. The third is a straight precon (and they all started as precons) but I do actually like the first two and I’ve made them into Bracket 3’s that perform pretty well.

The last thing he remembers is the Houston Texans whooping the Kansas City Chiefs 24-0 in the AFC Divisional game. He asks if they wound up winning and how the Texans are doing in the next round. The doctor and nurse look at each other and then hold the fan down to put him under again, with the doctor saying “trust me you want this.”
