Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 07/10/2026It’s a big honour to be featured in the latest edition of the always beautiful, hand-typeset, underground journal Terrascopædia. Phil’s labour of love is a thing of wonder and thanks to Jamie Etherington of the @fretboardjournal.bsky.social for the interview. 130

Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I watched a documentary about him recently, and that usually makes me warm to artists I’ve previously had little or no interest in. On this occasion it did the exact opposite. Confirmed my “wacky smart arse” suspicions. I make an exception for Hot Rats too though. 010
Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I’m fascinated by the cult of therapy and how it’s posited as the only route to “mental wellness” and ethical living. I’m sure it works for some, but as an expensive, privatised, privileged form of health care, the all too common chorus of “everyone should have therapy” feels tone-deaf and entitled. 020

Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Went to see Shawn Hess and Derek Dames Ohl last night and they were great. Derek does that Blaze Foley talkin’ blues thing and Shawn is classic tears-in-your-beer country-folk in the Lefty/Willie/Townes lineage. Still a couple of chances for London heads to catch them. 020

Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 30/09/2026There’s the occasional oddity which I think can be fun but it’s a hard pass for me usually. Ironically, Johnny Rivers’ LA Reggae LP does not contain such a stab. 020

Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I’m generally of this opinion too, but as a psych/folk-rock/late 60s-early 70s SSW fan, I refuse to sit through the ubiquitous zany old time/trad jazz/music hall pastiche, phoned in 12 bar album filler or misguided stab at reggae, which plague so many records I otherwise love. 3130
Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I’ve been uncomfortable with the rise of Help For Heroes (and enforced poppy wearing) for a long time. The deification of the military, (who in living memory have only ever been involved in colonial/corporatist wars) is revolting. 010

Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Even as an atheist who thinks all religion is poison, this is a wilfully naive take. The orange men are a group of far-right extremists who are aggressively targeting a persecuted minority. To suggest it’s some kind of “both sides are bad” situation is not helpful. 030
Bobby Lee @bobby-lee.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Also, I think I have a crush on the 90s jazz nerd (left tape) based on their handwriting/letter formation/choice use of upper case/attention to label details. The Ayler fan’s italic capitalisation is mildly threatening. 010
