2026 PLANS Smaller projects, stronger foundations, new blood and putting 2025's lessons to good use!

Plans for 2026: New Year! New and Improved Us!

Reinforce our foundations
Grow, but like, sustainably
Ship small, meaningful projects

WHAT WE DID All the tea about our first year as an independent sociocratic organization, breakdown by bubble about what went well, what didn't go to plan, and what we learned for next time!

BobaBoard 2025: Did We Do What We Set Out to Do?

Sociocracy and Us
Operating by Department
Steering a ship that changes size every time you look away
Building for the future, one API at the time
Docs: Because it’s Better to have it in Writing
Wrangling Them Volunteers, Or, Human Resources and You
And About That Fiscal Host?
But What Did We ACTUALLY Do?

BIG CHANGES, HOT TEA! Big news inside: we're making big changes in how and what we're working on... on the surface, at least. TL;DR: the line from here to a social fandom web is all but straight! DO read though, 'cause there's a whole section about it with all the deets.

Change Is Everything, and Also Very Hard

How Did We Get Here?

The Retro has the usual 3 sections (What We Did, What We're Planning for 2026 and How Can You Help), but this year we also have one-off (we hope) special section dedicated to changes on how we work! Check it out and get All The Tea about it.

What better Saturday afternoon than recycling our Friday m—I mean, helping the independent fandom web thrive? Fill out—or share!—our Volunteer Coordinator application (forms.gle/evUr3VXMV1ba...) 👈 and help fujos, furries, and other fans build a better web for their communities.

Sonic meme, saying "applying to be our volunteer coordinator on a Friday night? god, you're a hero of the fandom web" except now Friday night is crossed out and Saturday afternoon is written in.

[2025 PLANS] So, what are we planning for 2025? This year again, we're focused on strengthening our ability to operate as an organization. You can see in the attached image the goal for each of our current bubbles, and read more in the document about the ones we've yet to form!

Our 2025 Plans: [[Sociocracy Intensifies]]
Operate by Department

Documentation
Grow sociocratically
Seek a Fiscal Host

featuring descriptions of the 2025 goals for the
Boba Builders, Volunteer Wranglers, and Documentation bubbles.

The description is too long to fit here, so you might want to check the article itself!

But that's not *all* we did! In the spirit of sociocracy, we wrote the aims of our "sub-bubbles" and set priorities for the year. We also spoke at CitrusCon about the BobaBoard journey (and struggles) and expanded our sociocratic agenda to Fandom Coders!

Be the Monarch of Your Own (Single) Realm
Just Ship It™
Made a Name for Ourselves

[WHAT WE DID] This year, seeds were planted, in more ways than one! Organizationally, we're now a "real" sociocratic organization (read inside for details); technically, we now have self-hosting material (for the brave); and fiscally, as they say, "Now, there are two of them"!

As usual, our retro has 3 sections: what we did, what we'll do, and how you can help! Each section is meaty but conveniently divided for you to peruse at your leisure. Read them in order, or pick your favorite topic(s) to start!
