1/ This morning I was feeling the cathartic relief of the miracle in the air. The fact that the heroic Indian pilot, and a bunch of Israeli Jews were able to save everyone on the flight, on the Jewish holiday of Sukkot no less. Just...Wow!

3/ So on behalf of Dara and myself, we wish everyone a Chag Sukkot Sameach, and enjoy this extremely cool and TOTALLY REAL creation.

2/ Then tonight my friend Dara Horn sent me this marvelous video she filmed 3 years ago, and felt it was the perfect time to spread some joy. So I added some music and captions and here you go!

I was honored to be the featured guest for the lovely community called StarLove. It's an invite-only service where people can connect all over the world for Jewish events and friends. Here's my Shabbat message where I explain the lovely "Shabbat sigh" that my lovely neighbors taught me decades ago!

Here's the reel

1/ Gordon Haberman is an incredible man who has gone through what nobody should ever have to experience: needing to bury his daughter. Even worse, having no body to bury because of the inferno that was 9/11.

211

4/ I hope this reel helps honor that beautiful young lady's memory, as she was murdered and taken far, far too soon. In addition to reading the book, if you wish to show support to the Habermans, Gordon helped build the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial so you can send a donation or visit. #neverforget911

3/ When I reached out, Mr. Nichols had already watched the episode of my show with Gordon and was pleased that I would be creating this post. He had no desire for self-promotion and truly just cared about this wonderful family.

110

2/ He sent me the book written about his daughter, Andrea, and his family’s entire torturous journey. It was admirably written by Wisconsin journalist Mike Nichols, who later became president of the Badger Institute.

Wow! Let me tell you how cool this is... I grew up in a house where all over the walls you'll see close-up photos of people. Faces. Expressions. So the obvious question I would be asked, are these my relatives? The answer surprises people. No.

1/ With the 25th anniversary of 9/11 fast approaching, I knew it was high time to bring everyone back together into the same room, to learn and remember what the community actually consists of. Survivors and First Responders. Those are likely what you first think of. youtu.be/voJnvBalMe4

1/ It's fascinating how tiny and vast the world can be at the same time. One day I might be watching The Office on TV; the next day, one of those actors is in my friend's living room. One day I'm following Hillel Fuld on social media; the next day, he's fanboying over people I'm introducing him to.

6/ The 24 people started similarly, but I asked a question about the strengthening or losing of one's faith since 9/11, and as you can imagine, it led to an emotionally fascinating conversation. And the last 90 minutes CANNOT be missed; it is absolutely riveting. youtu.be/P8mUNSJ8Jos?...

1/ If episode one was the brain of this two-part 9/11 series, episode two is the heart. Both are crucial to watch, and each is vital to help ensure you and your children never forget. youtu.be/P8mUNSJ8Jos?...

5/ I know Australia is the land down under, but right now the entire world seems like it's flat out upside down. Thank you my friend Linda, and I'm excited for the impending introduction to the last surviving son of Sugihara himself! #sugihara #antisemitism

4/ One publisher even suggested removing the star of David from the cover. You know, the yellow star that Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis, shouldn't be on a book about... Jews being saved from Nazis.

131

3/ If that's not enough of a reason to order the book, how about the fact that in spite of winning awards and selling out in Australia, the book was mostly rejected by American publishers and bookstores because it's....too Jewish.

2/ Linda Royal took the effort to send me her best selling novel "The Star on the Grave" all the way from Australia, and both my wife Adi and myself are excited to read about Chiune Sugihara, a hero and tzaddik in Japan who saved thousands of Jewish lives during WW2/the Holocaust.

5/ Whereas in Part One (released last week) the 22 individuals gave crucial advice on what resources the 9/11 community should use, such as how to best navigate the hazardous journey of the World Trade Center Health Program, Episode 2 was far more emotional. #911Education

4/ I met with 24 of these incredible individuals, and it was fascinatingly DIFFERENT from the previous conversation. In both episodes, the groups of amazing people told their 9/11 stories, but after that, the similarities end.

3/ Because we hear the slogan "Never Forget," but sadly, we constantly forget. And to the survivors, responders, family members, and the activists of the permanently traumatized community, remembering the people, realizing the ongoing impact, and educating each generation is beyond crucial.

2/ The best way to honor those who were directly devastated on September 11th is by listening to their stories, remembering their families, recognizing their ongoing health challenges, and ensuring that the education doesn't disappear.

11/ As I said, the Jewish world is a dichotomy of being vast and intimate at the same time. And it was lovely to facilitate a fun night of connections.

030

10/ I had no idea who that man was at the time, but lo and behold, it was Ari Fuld. As if that wasn't enough, my best friend in Israel messaged me after the event that, oh, Hillel Fuld? I went to yeshiva with him; we're old friends!

9/ Suddenly, like the last scene of The Usual Suspects, pieces came together in my mind, and I remembered years ago when she was working with Sheba Medical Center, and there was a friend who was killed in Israel, and she spent days crying.

8/ But here's what makes the world fascinatingly small: before the event, I found out from my wife that she not only knew his brother Ari, but was quite close to him.

7/ He discussed Israel, his making Aliyah years ago from America, his beloved and tragically murdered brother, and a new series of housing developments called Eden Hills.

6/ In true Boaz fashion, this ended up being filled with such amazing leaders and artists, that I moved it to a bigger space at the home of my friends, and Ariel arranged a lovely spread of sushi and drinks.

5/ Over the course of a few short days, I managed to gather some awesome individuals who I knew Hillel would appreciate meeting as much as they were excited to see him.

4/ When our mutual friend Ariel Jalali called and told me Hillel was coming to town for one brief night, I called Hillel and told him I would host about 20 people who I wanted him to meet.

3/ Throughout the Jewish world, he has become a bit of a celebrity, and I've had the pleasure of creating and maintaining a friendship from thousands of miles away over the past few years.

2/ Hillel was quite well known in the tech world, but it was only after October 7th that he shifted his life focus as one of those voices we could consistently watch from within Israel.
