We entered the caves with our brave adventures to in #SubTerra. It was a long walk in the dark. We encountered terrors, leapers, cave ins and floods. At one point we were trapped. The deck of cards ran out, luckily the next tile was the exit, everyone survived! #Boardgames

We started October with 3 plays of #EscapeTheCurseOfTheTemple. Played over 10 minutes against the clock, it’s like a speedy Indiana Jones! We failed the first time as we were a little rusty. Success on the two subsequent plays, both with a few seconds left. #boardgames

Our last game in September was the excellent #TakeTime. We hadn’t played for a few months but as the rules are simple and clock dependent, we found it easy to pick back up. A unique gaming experience. #boardgames

Today this year’s #ExitAdventCalander and #ForNorthwood! arrived. As it’s not December yet, A was content with trying FN. A doesn’t usually like reading rule books however this one is very easy to understand! An enjoyable experience - hopefully to repeated again soon. #boardgames

After dinner we played #It’sAWonderfulWorld. We’ve been playing this with a friend on BGA which is good but lacks expansions. We feel the corruption expansion makes the game more interesting as there are multiple ways to score. Having said that today’s scores were quite low! #boardgames

We spent Sunday afternoon in the good company of friends playing #TheTavernsofTiefenthal. It took a few turns for us to remember how to play, there is a lot to do and achieve in 8rounds. We all had mostly upgraded our taverns, but as K and N showed, you need a lot of beer to win! #boardgames

Today we played #Wingspan. We both ended with 3 bonus cards, A managed to gain an impressive 19 points from them. A lot of food was gained from pink powers and cards that gave a type to all players. Victory was by 2 points, we both scored over 90. #boardgames

We played #Calico after dinner. A finds the pattern matching quite difficult. Despite only winning around 3 times in 55 plays it has escaped the cut. Something about the challenge keeps A going back and trying again, either solo or together. #boardgames

Since it’s arrival 2 months ago we have played #WingspanPocket 14 times. The more we play it the more we like it. Today we were too tired to play big Wingspan so chose the smaller sibling. It scratches the bird/nature itch in only 15 minutes. Truly a great game in a small box. #boardgames

We needed a quick game so chose #RiverValleyGlassworks. This time we used the expansion cards that gave end game points for collecting a shape of glass. This was easier said than done! A managed in our 2nd play to collect the maximum triangles gaining 11 points. #boardgames

A very close game of #CreatureCaravan. We both attached cards from the wanderer expansion onto our tableau’s which defeated zombies. This meant no points gained or lost fighting them, which was unusual. M scored most points from cards whilst A gained most from the gift/coin board. #boardgames

M chose #KnittingCircle as our after dinner game. A pulled several buttons from the bag that were symmetrical. This always causes lots of thinking as A struggled with how to achieve this! M won by a few points by having finished one more garment. #boardgames

We very narrowly defeated The Collector in Act 2 #SlayTheSpire, both down to our last health point. The Torch heads were relentless not helped by the two flame status cards added to our decks which made us loose health often. Excellent fun! #boardgames

#Earth. The Animal Kingdom expansion makes for high scoring games. Today M won with a score of 279. The seeds really loosen the game - allowing converting them for specific cards or compost or other goodies. We definitely recommend the expansions. #boardgames

5 player #Sanctuary. We’ve not played Ark Nova as although we like the theme it takes too long to play. This game took just over 2 hours, not bad considering 4 of us hadn’t played before! We enjoyed it and would happily play again. #boardgames

#Teotihuacan, continuing our less played game sessions. It was close game - 5 points extra to A. We played with the robot player to move some of the opponents dice more often. The pyramid was almost entirely built and we both managed to get to the top of the green cocoa track. #boardgames

After playing #TheLoop online with a friend we decided to play our copy. It didn’t go well! Too many clones meant we ended up with 4 vortices. Dr Foo wins!!! #boardgames

Too many Dr Foo clones on the board led to our downfall in the loop. A very colourful board, we upgraded the wooden meeples with character stickers.

Our first play of #CascadiaAlpineLakes. We liked the added puzzle of making higher landscapes whilst trying to keep animals in groups. It’s more complex than its sister game but still a very enjoyable experience. #boardgames
