It would explain why we needed to create a vessel before being allowed to enter the world of Deltarune, even if that vessel ended up being discarded by... someone or something before we, as the soul, could occupy it. Makes me wonder if there's a vessel with Kris' original soul somewhere out there.

In addition to the other comments, Kris seems to also need the soul for special actions like sealing a dark fountain, or using the souls' light to boost certain ACTs. I've also heard a theory they can't stay in dark worlds without the soul.

Thank you for the request @edgeofdecay.bsky.social I'm not much of a character designer, but I gave it my best shot. In case it's hard to tell, I took a cue from your reference and tried to give the character a helmet rather than a full on bird head, but otherwise it's normal anthro anatomy.

*small clarification regarding comms: You are in control of what the piece will be for the entire sketch phase. Once you are satisfied with the sketch and I start refining the lines, the design is locked in. I'll still be open to minor changes like color or detail adjustments up until the end.
