Drawing won and I decided to take a stab at cleaning up this rather ambitious group shot from ages ago

A rough sketch of the main cast of Bloody Spade (Iori, Ellen, Alexander, and Kyani) standing battle-ready atop a pile of wreckage, looking onward with determination

He is the "barbie doll" I'm "throwing into trees" by the way

A close-up of my character Iori's face from the side, black ink streaming from his right eye as he stares ahead in dismay (actually staring at his reflection in a mirror but I ain't drawing that part lol)

Convincing you to buy my books with a randomly-selected meme and snippet, round one: bloodyspade.carrd.co

A drawing a small almost toy-like cat-eared boy plunking down the stairs (this is Iori, the main character of Bloody Spade)

A snippet from Bloody Spade which reads:

He had to be dead. And yet—
And yet, there he was on the computer monitor, plain as day. Two arms, two hands, his face and torso intact. Still alive, still breathing. Somewhere inside, a heart still beating.
One by one, the rungs shook loose.

Not dead.

Not dead.

Not dead.

Not dead.

Not dead.

Drip, drip, drip.
Three fat drops of ink struck the porcelain sink, viscous black on glossy white, and Iori’s rapid breaths stalled. No. No, no, no, no, no, no. He lifted his gaze to the mirror and removed his eyepatch, freeing the liquid that had pooled behind it. It ran thickly off his chin, dotting the sink’s rim.
The last rung on the ladder gave out and cast him into the abyss.

I don't think I even gave her a backstory?? The BLOODY SPADE brainworms took over not long after I created her. But her vibe was very much inspired by Gaia Online, Trickster, and Flyff. I actually still really like her outfit. I even got some art of her done by other artists back in the day!

Artists, quote or comment with your "gone but not forgotten" OCs! To kick things off: Meet Tanaka Urmania, the spunky magical catgirl I created in 2009 and used for nothing, but still think about often ✨

A drawing by me of a fair-skinned cat-eared girl leaping to catch a gold-hilted blade. She has long purple hair tied back in white ribbon, wears a gold-embroidered bell-sleeved shirt, a blue skirt, and bronze cat-paw boots.

Artist! Quote with your most cursed artwork. This guy's probably up there on the cursed list

A bone-thin formerly-human creature lurching forward threateningly with bits of bone jutting out from warped flesh. Flesh has grown over the eyes, sealing them shut. Jagged teeth stick out from the gums. Blood runs from the mouth and eyes and ear canal.

This is a redraw of a drawing from 2020! Here are both side-by-side. Lyrics in the main post are from Tim Odell's song "Heal" which suits Iori quite well. It's a heavy song but a hopeful one <3

And take my past And take my sins Like an empty sail takes the wind And heal, heal, heal, heal 💜🍃

A drawing of my character Iori from my novel Bloody Spade in a field of purple verbena flowers, smiling brightly and tearfully as a breeze sweeps up his short, tousled black hair. He has a couple of the flowers tucked in above his cat ears, which are angled downward. Petals swirl against a blue sky streaked with cloud. He is a fair-skinned boy in his late teens wearing a ribbed, sleeveless, turtleneck shirt and he has a gold tassel earring with purple beads hanging from his ear.

There's so much to love here, and we have a brilliant group of artists to thank for it! Credit to @delaneyjanuzzi.bsky.social for the beautifully gloomy jacket, @luposlipaphobya.bsky.social for the gorgeous hardcase, and @akkaccel.bsky.social for the elegant end papers 💕 (sketch pages are by me!)

A photo of the end paper artwork, depicting a masquerade ball scene from the book with multiple characters in formal attire. The main duo, Ellen and Iori, are brightly lit and dancing in the middle ground. In the foreground, almost silhouetted, are Hikaru with his cane looking a bit mysterious, and Naomi, Aryel, and Ikkei smiling and chatting. In the background, Kyani keeps Alexander company at the bar.

Here it is, the stunning @rainbowcrate.bsky.social edition of BLOODY SPADE! I watched this come together behind the scenes, but seeing it in person, in print, is on another level 🥺🌈

Photo of me holding two copies of the Rainbow Crate edition of BLOODY SPADE, one with and one without the dust jacket.

A stack of Rainbow Crate editions of BLOODY SPADE, the jacketed one on top with a rainbow sheen to its text. Cover depicts one of the protagonists, Iori, sitting in a stone throne in an eerie forest, cheek resting against the back of his hand, looking grim. Ink bleeds from his right eye as well as the amethyst spade set into the back of his throne. He has cat ears and a cat tail, shirt tousled black hair, and is wearing a leather jacket and jeans with dark boots.

The hardcase design, back and front stylized like the face cards in a deck of playing cards. Characters are depicted in white, gray, and black, with accents in red. The main duo, Iori and Ellen, are on the front side. Deuteragonists Alexander and Kyani are on the back. All are set against red backdrops and flanked by the vertical title text.

Hey guys, bummer update: In short, I'm postponing THE HOWLING DARK. Between gradually worsening burnout from last year and unanticipated busyness at the start of this year, I've fallen behind schedule and fear the book will suffer if I try to stick to the current date. (continued below)

Every time my Halo hype bubbles to the surface, I miss them

A silly doodle of my characters Alana (a human space soldier) and Kenon (a tall gray-skinned lizard-like alien). Kenon is flailing his arms going "oh woe is me now I must save the galaxy" and Alana is rolling her eyes yelling "OH MY GOD SHUT UP"

Another silly doodle featuring Alana's teammates as of book two (the calyspis project: rebirth). They're all screaming over whatever they're looking at on a laptop (except Parker, who is delighted). There is one space lizard alien on the team named Jhiral. The others are Jenkinson, Parker, and Carter.

A chibi doodle of Alana and Kenon running, smiling, in their scifi body armor

I don't have any silly doodles of Levian so please enjoy this actual art of him on the battlefield, calling to his people (Levian is a blue-skinned lizard-like alien in purple armor with two energy blades attached to his wrists)
