And it’s not “pro-Iran” to acknowledge certain historical facts, like that we led a coup of their democratically elected gov in 1953, or when we blew up an Iranian passenger plane in 1988. They don’t “hate us for our freedoms.” There is nuance to this, and we do our best to give the full picture.

The reality is the U.S. lost this war, and the repercussions will be felt for a long time. He’s united and strengthened BRICS, forced the EU and Canada into distancing themselves from us. He blew up the Middle East security umbrella. And now now we are stuck in this prolonged war.

Back in Jan/Feb, Trump led the protesters on, told them to take to the streets, and then abandoned them. Then he bombed a little girls’ school and helped consolidate sentiment against America in the country. Then, instead of abiding by the MOU, he decided to prolong the war instead.

It’s funny. I brought this up on this same pod yesterday — how people interpret honesty about what’s happening with the war with being “pro Iran” and turning it into a Bush-era style “you’re either with us or against us” dichotomy. The reality is we knew this would be a disaster from the start.
