Yep! Siren got dropped into the Marvel Universe for awhile and wound up as Taskmaster's protege and his first-ever romantic interest! It was a weird arc, Tasky was in kind of a Batman phase [he even had a child sidekick] but it was pretty good!

He looks like a stock broker and I mean that as the highest praise, it's SO fitting for the guy

Love the 2010 Taskmaster book you guys did, Fred! Amazing writing and art. As for if Palo was the first to draw him without his mask, I THINK that was Kevin West in 1995's Siren. But Palo was definitely one of very few (and I LOVED his take on Tony's face!)

I wouldn't say so! He's VERY creative, he combines moves to create new ones all the time, like combining Miles' venom shock [which he can't copy but studies the effects of] with a Daredevil nerve strike to create a paralyzing blow.

That's completely fair! I'm only up to the end of S3 so I don't know how it goes beyond that, but I think my main point of cynicism was that it didn't feel like Butcher's worldview was being pushed back against enough. But it's very much a subjective thing and I agree it's a spot-on satire.

I find Boys a -little- cynical, but I vastly appreciate how much it distills the best elements of the comic. Invincible's aces, though. I like how well it balances its darker and more idealistic tones.

Honestly, I agree, while it can be fun to sometime get glimpses into a character's head, I often enjoy having to filter their dialogue through their biases, flaws, etc. That said, I've noticed there's a problem in the fandom at times where people take dialogue as fact instead, which is...a problem.
