Watching this today. It works so well as like an "Episode 0" I would have loved getting more into Plagueis, and the Dyad Palpatine spoke about in TROS. This is the only show they've made that actually feels important to the saga.

Something I'd like to see explored in future Sequel era stories is Kylo Ren's insecurity about Rey, Finn, and Poe being like Leia's surrogate children while he's not there. Hopefully this new book will touch on that.

What I find fun is messy drama, romance, betrayals, secrets, choices, and consequences. When you remove all of that but keep "looks like an 80s movie and they fly around and shoot stuff." That's not "fun" enough. Real movies have all of those things and we should demand more.

You have to earnestly commit to a direction and STORY. It has to be a soap opera again where people can actually discuss character choices and interpersonal dynamics. Characters need to love deeply and lose harshly. This is just not happening anymore.

Nobody wants to talk about how 90% of Maul: Shadow Lord is "normal police" propaganda. It's a show partially about trusting the "real cops" over occupational military officers (like ICE). But in the real world, they're the same thing. You can sugarcoat fascism. ✌️
