iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Please see today’s letter by Heather Cox Richardson; in it she recounts crucial elements of OUR war for independence with special focus on Thomas Paine’s address to the nation struggling, fighting, to be born. Rather than say what this means to me, now, I ask that you read it and see for yourself.

His eyes are turned up like that because he’s looking for his brain.

And you get me laughing—good for the soul. 🙏

Interesting twist on gallows humor—which I have a penchant for. Especially in these days of back to a future version of the Dark Ages. (I’m not dead yet///You’re not fooling anyone . . .)

My first repost—this needs to be said, in one form or another, until everyone “with eyes to see” SEES.

If anyone here is familiar with Substack, I could sure use a tutorial. No hurry—we’re all busy now. But just letting me know you can help would be great!

Can I add the several memorials in Selma and Montgomery Alabama? These are all crimes against humanity, and that is what we must never forget—especially now when so many appear to have forgotten what humanity is 🙏

000

I’ve got your back—all 81 years of me and my recently revived “stand your ground” philosophy 👍

Only those camels who’ve gotten over the hump?

It isn’t easy being green; but as if that isn’t hard enough you have to give me this crazy-long neck to boot?💙🥳

Another “old one” from Indigo Girls that hasn’t lost its edge: “Prince of Darkness.”

I like them all, but particularly this one: for me, the transport happens here.

Yes—and in 2017 it was (wait for it) . . . Vladimir Putin.

Got to give this some thought; but meanwhile I love your use of the word “willies”!

Vladimir Putin was Time’s Person of the Year in 2017. Just a wild guess here but I’d say Time Magazine might be applying different criteria for their choice than folk like us would 😕

000

Following the same path—glad you said this 🙏

Beautiful, strong, intelligent, informed, and representative of all people—ALL people. She is the person of the year. Thank you, Kamala . . . and thank you, Kamalla!

Two songs by Indigo Girls—the second is one answer to the first: “How long till my soul gets it right?” “Closer to Fine” Some things keep on giving 🙏

Please read Heather Cox Richardson’s “Letters from an American” for December 7, 2024. Easily found on Substack, and worth the 10 minutes to read it. I’d be happy to talk about it with anyone. Thanks!

I’ve been thinking the same thing—strength in numbers and in resolve! ✊

This is what happens to Cheatos (sic) as they age.

Good to be reminded of this—though I have to admit that my soul needs some work . . . always has, always does 🙏

That laundry will need a lot of air: people anywhere near it could die of asphyxiation 💨

Must be a thing: I’m always a little behind myself.

My understanding is that Sigmund lit a victory cigar when he knew he’d gotten the diagnosis right—and there it is! 👍

Wonderful—thank you for posting this . . . and really for everything you post 💙

I believe you’re right—just hoping we can help speed the self-destruction in time for today’s children, all of them, to have a future 🙏

I do. And understand that those who want to destroy them know their relevance and their importance—for them, libraries are one of the obstacles to erasing history, a key ingredient in creating and maintaining fascism.

Yes—MIA, and the antidote is to learn again how to treat all men as brothers, all women as sisters, and all children as gifts to loved, nurtured, and prepared to do the same for each other . . . And the planet 🙏

I will—again you have emboldened me. Thank you for that 💙

Have just taken a first step in a direction I may decide to pursue: have put myself on the Braver Angels mailing list. But imagining myself in humane and useful communication with people from “the other side” scares me—not from fear of what cd happen to me, but of my just losing it. Guess we’ll see.
