Federal prison DENIED Song's ballistics expert access to his client and Trump appointed Judge Mark Pittman DENIED defense the ability to argue self-defense after trial revealed officer drew and aimed at the back an unarmed, fleeing protester. This trial was rigged.

Excerpt from the Intercept article linked in the quoted post that reads:

Together, this new evidence of a ricochet matches the information that became apparent only during the trial when Gross testified that he drew his weapon first and aimed at a fleeing protester. Drawing on this testimony, along with video evidence, Song recounted the same version of events in a statement he read during sentencing.

“When I saw Lieutenant Thomas Gross stop pursuing and point his gun at the back of a running, unarmed protester, like he testified, I was terrified,” Song said. “As a firearms instructor and a United States Marine Corps veteran, I understood what I was seeing. As the evidence shows, I did not want to hurt anyone.”

BREAKING: Texas State Fires Professor over Palestine Speech Philosopher Idris Robinson is being fired for having principles. He gave a talk on Palestinian resistance. He would not condemn it. Over a year later, TXST terminates his tenure-track contract. But he's fighting back.🧵

Idris Robinson screen-capture from his seminal How It Might Should Be Done public talk. Text: As for Hamas, Robinson told the Guardian: “I definitely do not condemn the violence used by the Palestinian resistance. Palestinians have not been accused of perpetrating genocide, while the Israelis have been found guilty of doing so by the UN, Amnesty International and others. So the issue of whether I support violence or not is a ridiculous and immature question at this point.”

In any case, Robinson added, his main claim in both the talk and the question-and-answer session was that “the Palestinian people are not just passive victims. They have agency and there’s something to be learned from people who’ve been struggling for 75 years … about emancipatory political transformation.”

light pink graphic with a photo of two grey birds looking to the left. Text says:

Important update regarding the Prairieland Defendants

Pink background with text that says:

The DOJ is currently pressuring all of the defendants who have not yet been indicted federally to take plea deals. These deals vary, but most involve up to 15 years in federal prison. As we recently saw with the Casey Goonen case, we are pessimistic that their sentences will be the short end of the proposed deal. Moreover, it’s not clear how these deals will impact the state cases.

These offers come over four months into an unimaginable ordeal of detention by these defendants. They are being told by the state that these deals are their only option to avoid potential life in prison. The defendants are psychologically worn down and are now having false deadlines forced upon them by a DOJ only interested in an easy win that can be used to validate their ridiculous fantasies of “Antifa terrorists.”

The majority of defendants have rejected these offers and will continue to fight their charges and to come home to their families and community.

Unfortunately a number of defendants may ultimately decide to accept these offers. We have immense sympathy for the difficulty our loved ones are facing. We do not believe accepting these deals will be a confirmation of the state’s narrative, instead it will only be confirmation of the unjust and barbaric actions by the state that we have seen throughout this case.

Thank you all for your support so far. We will continue to update you as things progress.
