BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 04/10/2026In my case, as far as I can tell, I was vaxxed in 1970 but could’ve been 1969… but the titers didn’t lie. When we totally lose herd immunity (lookin’ at you, PA) a lot of people in my last-of-the-Boomers cohort will be in a world of $hit (or $hot, depending on your science belief levels :-) 101 0
BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Also - not immunocompromised so for me it was just a routine thing… after I was shocked by the news I was no longer protected by my vaccination from 1970 or so. 030 0
BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I was my own test case: I paid for the titer test: and I had zero measurable immunity. The test was a few hundred bucks; the MMR was under a buck (and came with a cute band-aid.) I’m spending more time around babies (happens when we are fortunate and get older) and don’t want to be the problem. 130 0

BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I generally agree but am switching can be costly (in B2B settings) or just inconvenient (in B2C.). If I can get a price match, I feel less like a hostage. Hostages almost always try to escape. The hostage metaphor for “lock in” is helpful in framing the discussion and getting people to think. 010 0
BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I do pricing for a career. A customer who asks for a better price at renewal time and brings receipts is a gift… which too many companies just squander. BluePointer @bluepointer.bsky.social · 02/08/2026If you got the Measles vax in the late 1960s, go get a booster: the vax from back then didn’t always provide lifetime immunity.
