Carolyn Blake is a Birmingham-based artist, whose work captures the quiet, poetic moments in everyday life and explores the concept of time through "non-events" in the home or out - viewing art, gardening at home, lost in thought. A warm apricot tone and fluid brushstrokes bring tonal subtlety.

We often highlight crafts that are handmade - in a mass produced age, the customer often has no idea just how long each product has taken to make. Paper2Pearls by Gilli's Flowers demonstrates this beautifully. Her paper book jewellery is hand folded and finished by her own fair hands!

Something must be done about packaging - we all agree. The extended producer responsibility regulations increase the responsibility for packaging to suppliers. You might think "that doesn't apply to me" but it will likely impact on your business as suppliers pass on the additional costs.
