The problem isn’t the ticketing, it’s the concession prices

I don’t want movie theaters to go away. I don’t want to sneak in my own snacks. I want to be able to see Spider-Man and pay about $10 for a normal sized popcorn and soda (net profit to theater at least $8). Every time I can’t do that it makes me slightly less likely to go to the movie theater.

Lehigh Valley ItonPigs unveil their merchandise for their 2026 alternate identity, the Squonks. Hats and shirts are olive green and black with a crying, pig-like squonk character over the outline of Pennsylvania.

The squonk is a mythical creature that is reputed to live in the hemlock forests of northern Pennsylvania in the United States. The squonk is of a very retiring disposition, generally traveling about at twilight and dusk. Because of its misfitting skin, which is covered with warts and moles, it is always unhappy ... Hunters who are good at tracking are able to follow a squonk by its tear-stained trail, for the animal weeps constantly. When cornered and escape seems impossible, or when surprised and frightened, it may even dissolve itself in tears.
