I tried Control back in 2019 & couldn’t get into it. Decided to give it another try & after a few hours, I still don’t see what others see in it. Guess it’s just not for me.

Enjoyed the Castlevania demo on Switch. Looking forward to its release later this month! #NintendoSwitch

Since Silent Hill 2 is 25 years old, I thought I’d repost this art I did a little while ago.

Traditional art of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2, standing in the rain. A white paint marker rests atop the artwork.

Decided to give Control another chance. Tried back on its original launch & didn’t get on with the gameplay/combat at all. Hopefully this time will be different! #Control #XboxGamePass

Another replay was needed. This time on a 3rd different platform, because it’s just that bloody good. #Signalis #NintendoSwitch

“What are you waiting for? He’s your dad too.” That scene gets me every time. #Arcane

Resident Evil was great fun. Tense, weird, downright nasty at times & with way more humour than expected.

That’s Requiem finished again. What a game. The Switch 2 version shows just how good that little machine is, when used properly. #ResidentEvilRequiem #NintendoSwitch2

Started a rewatch of Arcane. S1E3 is still one of the best I’ve seen in any show, animated or otherwise.

Downloaded The Witcher 3 on my Switch 2 just to upload a save so I can use it with the remaster later this month. Seems a bit excessive, but it’s the only way to ensure a useable save is available.

That Reacher S4 finale was a good way to end a superb return to form. Hopefully the inevitable S5 will continue this form, whenever that arrives.

Not gonna take too many more screenshots now as I’m into the 2nd half of the game & refuse to spoil things from a game that’s barely over 6 months old. Still extremely impressed with this version. #ResidentEvilRequiem #NintendoSwitch2

Hang on. World of Warcraft: Forever is a new game playable with a controller & it’s *not* coming to console? What is Xbox even doing with Blizzard?

010

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Try as I might to enjoy Project Motor Racing, it just feels like a game that didn’t consider controller handling & it’s a real problem. Some classes are nigh impossible to handle. Very much regretting buying it, at this point.

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I both love & hate that even on my third playthrough, Resident Evil Requiem is still ridiculously tense whenever you play as Grace.

As exciting as these Blizzcon announcements are (nice to know they haven’t forgotten that Starcraft is a thing) they’re simply far too early. I can’t be too bothered about games I won’t see for *at least* 3-4 years.

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

The Switch 2 is becoming a real go-to for me. Its screen makes playing handheld a wonderful experience. Requiem is so impressive, its atmosphere still shines on the small screen! #ResidentEvilRequiem #NintendoSwitch2

Pragmata was good. I grew tired of the awkward combat after a while & the story was fairly basic, but Diana & Hugh carried the whole thing. #PS5Share

I couldn’t get into Reacher S3 & never finished it, but was told to jump straight into S4 because it was miles better. 3 episodes into S4 & it’s already got me hooked.

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Been enjoying the Final Fantasy Resonance demo on Switch 2. Looks lovely in handheld & the gameplay is nice & simple, which works for me as I’m not that into turn-based RPGs anymore. Probably one for me to grab on sale later. #NintendoSwitch2

Gave in to curiosity & watched Return to Silent Hill. Not only is it a terrible adaptation of Silent Hill 2, it’s generally just an awful film with bad writing, worse acting & PS1 levels of CG.

I’m trying to like Project Motor Racing but the difficulty levels are either way too easy or way too hard, there’s no in-between. The handling physics are also still too twitchy on a controller, no matter how much I try to get used to it.

000

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Not gonna lie, the State of Play was a bit naff. Half the games looked exactly the same.

000

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Tried watching Gamespot’s hands-off preview of the new Tomb Raider & it’s just 6+ minutes of factually inaccurate complaining.

I couldn’t decide if I’ve got slower with age, or if Halo Wars 2 is actually more difficult than when I reviewed it. Then I checked & saw my review was a decade ago so yes, I’ve definitely got slower with age.

It upsets me just how overlooked Halo Wars 2 is. Decided to replay it & was instantly reminded why it should be ranked among the best games in the whole Halo series. I don’t even normally do RTS games, but this one is so accessible too. #Halo #XboxShare

Hell Is Us is finished. It has its flaws (some areas are a proper slog) but it’s still an excellent Souls-lite with a unique take on such an oversaturated genre. If you have Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus Extra/Premium you should give it a go.

000

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

That THQ showcase might as well have been called the THQ early access update. At least it was mercifully short, so it didn’t waste much of my evening.

After finishing the prequel missions in Halo: Campaign Evolved, I’m left a little worried about the future of the series. Just a series of boring shootouts with no real plot or character & overall, a remake that didn’t add anything of note over the 360’s Anniversary remaster.

000

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

That’s Campaign Evolved finished. I’d hoped this remake would make the 2nd half of the game more fun, but nah. Still an iconic game, but one that even a remake hasn’t prevented from aging a little poorly. Next up, the new bonus missions. #Halo #XboxShare

000

Gary @bluefury47.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

Campaign Evolved is a very faithful remake, which is perhaps both a blessing & a curse. I’m up to The Library though, which may make me lean more towards the feeling of it being a curse… #Halo #XboxShare
