A few nights ago, I had a bad dream. I was in a livingroom of sorts, watching some documentary on TV. At some point, the channel abruptly turned to a black screen, before switching to some very unnerving footage. This is a recreation of what I remember. The eyes followed me no matter where I was.

Hey Joseph. It's Emily. You've been asleep for... a little less than a week, now.
The UESC doctors and scientists are trying their best to find a cure for... whatever this is. We've been told they're making good progress, but... resources are low. Personnel is scarce. So... things are taking longer than expected.
I think one of the pamphlets they gave us about the contagion said something about a... 4 to 8 week recovery period. That gives us 56 days.

I can't get much information out of them. They're keeping comms short and concise, but... I can't blame them. They're short-staffed, and overwhelmed by the reprio towards investigating that... rainbow thing coming out of ag-hub. I know they're not monitoring you 24/7, but... I would. I am. I'm keeping track of every single minute.

Hey Joseph, it's Emily again. It's been three weeks since my last entry, and... you're still asleep.
That's... okay. We still have... 35 days before their official cutoff line, and I... want to believe in them. I want to believe our scientists are working around the clock to cure this.

I want to believe we signed up to the expedition to make a difference. To make a new home for ourselves.
And I want to believe we're still on the right path.

With that being said... their comms are even scarcer, nowadays. I asked Dr. Song today about it. She gave me an understanding look, before spitting some half-assed corpo answer about "protocol" and "priority management".
I don't blame her, but... I really, really wish she would just talk to me like a person. Colonist to colonist.

I'm starting to think they don't really... have a treatment plan, or that they haven't made any progress, at this point. I feel like... like they're keeping you hooked up and under observation because it's easier than admitting they're failing.

I want to believe them, and hope for the best, I really do, but... hope is hard to come by, these days.

On my way here, a MIDA freedom fighter cornered me. He... knew about you. He seemed to know you. Personally, I mean.
He told me... he told me I should forget about you. That I should move on.
He said you're just a dead body at this point, being used as a tool they keep holed up in a quarantine unit to squeeze financing out of the UESC.

And I just... punched him in the face, out of reflex, and I ran this way, and... he can't be serious, right?
Why would the UESC lie to us? Why would they pretend to work on a cure while half of the goddamn colony is dying to a virus we don't understand?

That's why I need you to prove him wrong. I need you to wake up.

I need the UESC to fix you, so you can wake up, and tell that MIDA scum that he was wrong.

You have to wake up.
