I find it hysterical that the Republican line for the midterms vote for us and give us the chance to fix the problems. These idiots have been in charge of the government and are the cause of the problems. I guess they think using what they do in Florida and Texas will work nationally.

Isn’t it ironic how they never clarify what they mean. I am 74 and do my annual wellness check. Does that count? I am lucky, no serious medical issues or prescriptions needed. Many people have insurance but never go to a doctor until it’s serious. No claims. Insurance companies love folks like me.

Early voting started here in Loudoun County VA. I voted and it was busy. The clerk said that 639 folks had already voted. And that was at 1:00 this afternoon.

Grandparents lunch day is so much fun. I have 3 in the school this year. Two school cafeteria slices of pizza and bananas. One more to go. It’s really fun and grandparents always show up early and ready to go.

Maybe it’s time to discuss the economic strength of the country not by the stock market but by how everyday Americans are doing. Use Main Street not Wall Street.

Is it possible they finally realize that republicans created the problems they have failed to fix for decades.

Maybe we should go back to paying the per diem. Aren’t in session, don’t get paid

Like how they campaign in Florida and Texas. Vote for us and we’ll fix all the problems. The republicans caused the problems as they’ve been running the government for w.

Why am I not surprised that he’s claiming The Kennedy Center is going bankrupt. He bankrupted casinos. Even the mafia could run a casino. What an idiot! Everything he touches dies.

Notre Dame on, laughing at a conversation I had with my late husband. Why watch ND every week? Did someone in the family play fb there? Nope I said. Did family members go there? Nope again. Then why? Well if you watch a whole season of ND fb you go straight to heaven. He never missed a game. LOL

I reviewed receipts from when I got my flu and Covid shots. They showed what my insurance saved me. For both shots, I paid nothing but without insurance, the shots would have cost $465. How many of our fellow Americans can’t afford to get the vaccines? How many will get sick because they can’t?

Watching the price of oil hovering around $100 a barrel, we see gas prices going up. I lived in Massachusetts and New York and everywhere I lived had oil heating. As we move towards Fall and Winter, the cost to heat homes will skyrocket. So sad.

Millionaire reps and senators constantly say if you want healthcare, get a job. Let’s take Amazon - they run commercials how the offer healthcare. On the other hand, they have laid off thousands of employees. They are also subcontracting delivery to small LLCs - gig workers - no benefits.

So Dementia Don is saying the $5,000 checks need to be spent in the US. Will that mean that our military families overseas like in Europe, not get checks? Something to think about.

So these AI execs say AI may kill all humanity in 10 years. Didn’t they see any of the Terminator movies when younger? Make SciFi mandatory reading and movies mandatory watching.

Dementia Don didn’t pay his contractors for work done - used the courts to bankrupt companies who sued. Never sent DOGE checks and all the tariff refunds went to the companies while prices never went down. What makes people think he will actually send them $5,000 checks?

The same party that screamed that teachers had the summers off and got paid through the summer. Of course, they refused to acknowledge that teachers opted for smaller checks so they could get paid in the summer. And teachers make less than half on average than he makes.

So Vermont makes about 53% of the maple syrup consumed in the US. The rest comes from Canada. Be prepared those pancakes are going to get quite expensive or you’ll have to eat them without syrup. Oh the horror!

Dear RNC, We will not be attending the midterm convention. First, we will be with friends who actually care about us. Second, $25k? We can’t afford groceries, gas, or healthcare. Thank you for your attention, The Everday American people

My dad was part of the committee to get a library branch closer than a bus and trolley ride. It opened down the street and I loved being there. I was in 8th grade and always went to the adult section. Several times I was chased back to the kids section.

And don’t forget “immigrants are taking our jobs.” I always asked for the name of the immigrant who took their job. The would say not me but I know someone. I always asked who and do I know them. Well no they would respond but they say…

I think Dems need to run ads in Florida and Texas to this effect: Republicans say vote for us and we will fix all the problems in our state. Then say that republicans have been in charge for decades in this state. They caused the problems and they failed to fix them. Why vote for them.

One year ago, this pup crossed my path at the rescue. While I had seen his pic on the website, I said I didn’t need a 9 month old puppy. Then a volunteer walked him right by me. I looked at him and he at me and he was my pup indeed and I was his hooman.

A busy day today. Walking the pup, meeting friends for breakfast, running errands, getting to the community garden, and doing some condo board work. As I had left over pumpkin puree, I made pumpkin cinnamon cookies for me. As I will see the grands tomorrow, chocolate chip cookies and muffins.

Let’s keep sharing all those goodies we get from Canada. Paper goods - one third of the soft lumber comes from our northern friends, most Olay products from body wash to face cream, and don’t forget maple syrup. While Vermont makes syrup, most comes from Canada. Find a sale and stock up.

So here we are again in a trade war with Canada. I already know that a third of soft lumber comes from Canada and is made into toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues used here in US. Also all the Olay products I use are imported from Toronto. Glad I am stocked up on these items.

I saw a David Jolly attack ad this morning. I now live in VA, but lived in FL for 20 years with friends there. Now Jolly is running for governor but the ad said he was against no tax on tips, SS, and OT. Last I checked these are federal tax issues over which state governors have little power. Crazy

I find it most interesting that Dementia Don wants cattle ranchers to process their own beef. The ranchers haven’t sold beef for commercial consumption and they have neither the capital or infrastructure to do so today. For over 100 years the ranchers have sold their cattle to the processing plants

Remember the ads that said Kamela was for they and them but Dementia Don was for you. Well it turns out Dementia is for THEY the rich and THEM the powerful. Definitely not for you, the everyday people.

Sitting on the sofa and the dryer goes off. I look at my pup curled into me and say “hey Boo, i have to get up.” He turns his head and looks at me as if to say, “not now I am too comfy.” And he curls back into me. LOL Dogs rule in this home.
