It’s no surprise that Andy B as PM has taken a very neutral position (for now), on City. He was scathing about their treatment of EFC throughout our investigation, hearing & appeal. So despite the extent of the result, would any EFC fan have real faith that they’ve got it 100% right? I wouldn’t.

I’m staying really positive. He showed an awful lot of strength on the ball getting fouled, dragged back & managing his control really well. Picked out some great passes. That run back to defend a real chance for wolves was excellent too. Just need more of it per game & he will secure that spot.

Whatever happens, you’d think they are more than qualified to run the figures and decide. It strikes me that the whole area is still a massive investment opportunity but that might not suit them. A pity though. Spreading the EFC footprint across that area seems a no brainer.

For the same reason others have quoted. EFC may well become the new benchmark. Villa spent heavily & got fined, didn’t grow the business at its core. This will be the only route or similar route for the vast majority of those 16 clubs plus one or two of the 6, to start or carry on growing.

We don’t need to take the risk. TFG provide the capital through investment, get it built and ready to go. EFC or whatever name they’ve given the parent Co. buys it completed. SCR wouldn’t come into it. It’s not Squad Cost Ratio related.

Well in his interview with Giulia Bould & Toffee TV, Angus made direct references to us earning £265m in our first year at HDS and that was set to rise again. We won’t see the facts of that until next year but I’d be surprised if he was lying about income.

And I’m for one moment suggesting Nelson Dock should be the basket for our eggs either. If growing the EFC brand means buying a hotel on Central Docks or office block then crack on. In golf it’s said the rules are there to help you, change the mindset and you change the approach.

I don’t see the problem. City extending the City footprint is an excellent decision by them. Our income streams would have to be so heavily guarded & regulated that you end up with matchday receipts & merchandise. Good luck with that getting support from the PL members - ie 20 clubs

I’ve seen enough reports to suggest our income (outside of player trading), will plateau around £300m by 2030. So consistent european qualification will be needed, sponsor deals need to improve again & EFC has to find other EFC related income streams such as Nelson Dock conversion to ???.

That needs balancing a bit though. I’ve said much the same but Villa had to repair the damage caused by two successive UEFA bans for exceeding 70% SCR. A third breach may cause more serious sanctions. PL has 85% SCR limit so we will walk between the two until extra income can be found
