I'm 20 minutes into the first episode of The Penguin, and I'm already rooting for Oz. I'm sure he does some absolutely despicable things, but I dunno, I feel like I actually WANT him to succeed. Rapidly climbing up the chart of my favorite characters.

I can also see why Colin Farrell got a spinoff as Penguin, because he's phenomenal. "Aww c'mon, what're you showing meeee????" is my favorite line of dialogue Colin Farrell has ever delivered

Finally getting around to watching The Batman. Really liking Robert Pattinson as Batman, but not huge on his take on Bruce Wayne. Not sure how much of that is how he's playing him vs how the character is portrayed, but regardless, I can see why people enjoy this movie so much.

Backrooms was absolutely incredible, it deserves its inevitable success 10000000%. Way more cerebral and introspective than I expected. Atmosphere, soundtrack, editing, sound design, acting, horror....it succeeds in almost every way possible. Kane Parsons has a hell of a career ahead of him.

If I died tomorrow, I wouldn't be worried about people seeing my browsing history. I would, however, be extremely embarrassed if someone found my calculator history.

Humanity peaked as a species and Capitalism peaked as a concept when Choco Tacos hit the market.

Watching Wicked: For Good, and we're at the part when Glenda and Elphaba are singing the eponymous For Good...and during this whole thing, Dorothy is just locked under the floor, likely *very* confused.

What's a random little quirk or habit you picked up during the pandemic that you never stopped doing? Mine is using my forearm to push open doors in public instead of my hands.

If you have kids, def take them to see Sketch. Fantastic horror movie for younger people, with some awesome visuals and snappy writing. It felt like a kids movie made in the 80s but with modern sensibilities. Very highly recommended!

These are very strange. They taste like a mildly spicy version of Big Mac sauce, and I'm not sure if I hate them or love them.

Just tried the new spicy mcmuffin from danks, and it's REALLY good. The sauce is like a spicy version of the big mac sauce, I like it a lot. Would love to see it appear in other options on their menu

I was already on board with the man cinematically after Kuso, but with Ash, it cements FlyLo as "Whatever he does next, I'll see it. Don't need a trailer, don't even need to know the premise. I'll be there."

Finally saw Ash, from Flying Lotus. Stunning visuals, incredible soundtrack, and some great production design, especially considering the budget. VERY highly recommended if you want a violent, trippy, great sci fi mystery horror thriller sort of thing.

Pairing up the movies Phenomenon and Powder would make for a great (if a bit depressing) mid-90s double feature

I have a Terrifier 3 promo cup that I use almost every day for water. My 7 year old (obviously) has no idea what Terrifier is or who Art is, but she sees the cup when I use it. She surprised me this morning by painting a Lego minifig to look like him!

The Woman in the Yard was *fantastic*. Way more cerebral and symbolic than the target audience is probably ready for. The trailer was quite misleading. Looking forward to seeing people dig into the imagery. Wouldn't be surprised if this was cut down to get the PG13 rating.

Every time I'm watching a movie or a show, and a knitted or crocheted blanket appears on screen, I shout "Gramma Blanket!" like some kind Pavlovian response. They can't be made by machines, they can *only* be made by hand. If you have one, cherish it.

Never thought I'd be out here defending a live action remake from Disney, *especially* a Snow White live action remake, but here we are I guess.

Blorphologist @blorphologist.bsky.social · 25/03/2025
I generally don't care what the public has to say about a movie, but you can tell that the actors in it are having a good time, and the huge amount of effort that went into it is evident. I'd wager that if people actually watched it and did so without preconceived notions, they'd be surprised.

It feels very weird for me to push back on this, but seeing the hate for the Snow White live action adaptation has me feeling some kind of way. Is it perfect? No, absolutely not. But it's solid! Genuinely enjoyable and entertaining, for a myriad of reasons. Certainly worth watching.

Went and saw the new Loony Tunes movie The Day The Earth Blew Up with the younger kiddo yesterday, and it was a lot of fun! The love and care the artists had oozed off the screen in every frame. Very much recommended!

Yoooooo, so Black Bag was FANTASTIC. Really fun, tight mystery thriller that's like one step short of being whimsical. Very very highly recommended

I'm going to go see Steven Soderbergh's new thriller Black Bag tonight. It's rare I go see this kind of movie in a theater (much less on opening night), but it looks like a solid bit of fun

Why is it so hard to find sour candy that's more sour than a wet fart? Warheads are meh. Toxic Waste is a little sour I guess, but it's garbage candy. I just want my mouth to get cut up from citric acid. Why is that so hard? Shill me some truly sour candy.
