As part of their fan appreciation game, they even let fans on the court to line up for an autograph from one of the players (too tired to photograph that and some other team store discount stash), but a bittersweet yet fond memory to end this chapter with. I may have spent $200 at BJ's (wholesale store like Costco), but $150 of that was for discounted gift cards toward oil change(s). Considering it's coincidental timing [took days off for myself anyway after family vacation], so glad I actually managed some msrp packs from the hyped Pokemon set!

Two different Pokemon 30th anniversary box sets, the top one being the green and white 4-pack box with small and large Sylveon cards, and the smaller one being a yellow and gold 3-pack box with three promo cards and the poster.

There are also two red gift cards to a local auto care chain (I needed an oil change, and used it for that).

Just got back home from the drive back, and maybe a bit too tired to be up in like 5-6 hours, but a fun experience all around.

The other fun activity I did yesterday was finally see Weird Al in concert! The lights were a bit too bright and strobe-y at times, but the music was a lovely assortment of eras and styles, and a solid choice of opening act in Puddles Pity Party, too. Definitely needed a day like yesterday, too!

Part one of yesterday's fun was watching an early Connecticut Sun game. Wanted to check out at least one before the team relocates to Houston next year. Managed to get a close seat to the basketball action, and was a close game at the end. Won the game, and caught a t-shirt toss shirt, too!

So it was an... interesting type of experience. Best way I can describe it is a Disney type of vibe: a lot of cool things for younger fans and some giveaways, but a lot of the better items/events had lines you either had to quickly register for at certain times or wait in line for a long while for.

I wish I'd taken more pics, but I went to my first Pride event today. It may have just been about an hour there (I forgot sunscreen and didn't wanna burn to a crisp), but a lot of cute sights and cool people there. Definitely more of a "test the vibes" mode, and I hope to go to more in the future.

Normally, I prep talk my own card show tabling today, but I was too tired from going to a larger show yesterday. Glad I went into that show looking for unusual Non-Pokemon/non-sport cards. All of these were either directly traded for things I had or bought with funds from a card I sold at the show!

In traditional "can rarely condense my thoughts" fashion, here's how I worded some of my TADC thoughts that I put in one of the Discord servers I'm in. (Thankfully I can fit the words into the alt text for this one post/image)

Not a specific thing this time around, just something where I finally am caught up with the TADC episodes (not the finale), and.........
... I feel things. Partly on me because I apparently saw [in full] episodes 1, 2, and 8. I think I stopped partway through 3 since I wasn't a fan of the horror tangent it went down, but something became a bit clearer this time around. All the episodes I missed were not only the lore-heavy ones, they involved characters I relate so hard to and struggles that feel such a strong parallel to my own. Wondering if I'm trying too hard to "be there for someone" not knowing if it's mutual, hiding parts of me just to not give signs I'm weak, and just this general sense of wanting to feel like I deserve more than what's being thrust to me.

Long story short: maybe it's for the better I catch the series now (within a day or two from a server's watch party) instead of as it aired. Hard for me to call it a favorite series as a personal preference, but at least appreciate the flow of it all moreso.

I would like to lodge a formal complaint with whoever the hell thought it was a good idea to put digital billboards into sink faucets! And yes, the water runs too close to the back edge too. So far just motivational things/gym ads, but I just know they'll add actual advertisements down the line.

Who's to know when we were born
Or whether our birth made sense

Did it matter?
I’m not sure

Did they have to train us?
Depends on your meaning of “training”...
A mission like this should take years of prep and practice
Not to mention knowledge of the world and it’s pathways
I suppose an orange jumpsuit and a goldfish bowl
Barely affixed to the head
Suffices enough

Just to them,
I imagine

Guided with the promise of nourishment
And a comfy place to rest a minor moment
Unaware that the foundations set for me

I hope this isn't an omen on the day. Granted, hot options are limited with continental breakfast, and at least the waffles were better the prior two days. This is also the worst appetizing the other two parts ("eggs" and meat) have been. Would explain why their free breakfast tends to be sparse.

The good news about getting to #FCL2026 early in the day is being able to play the pinball machines when there aren't a lot of people there. I may not be great at them (though feel better about the far left machine), but all quarters from the plays go to charity!

[former site discussion] Honestly, I stopped using "site which shall not be named" YEARS ago... kinda surprised it took this long to have anyone smack my blog. Not a threat, but suppose a blessing that I have no reason whatsoever to go back, and there'll NEVER be a presence from me there ever again.

Semi-related note: if anyone (ideally mutuals or from mutual communities) actually plays Tiny Tina, there was a code card for I assume.... weapons? loot? Whatever a skeleton key yields. Also, if anyone has an idea of what would be inside the "vending machine" card, info would be appreciated too.

I know I don't always share my hobbies here, but it's partly because my love for trading cards includes more than just sports or Pokemon cards, especially because the latter's been hard to find in recent months. Maybe I'll share more cards some time, but always love the variety of cards out there.
