this took an inordinate amount of time to complete; primarly as the lunch breaks i normally would occupy working on it got occupied by other things like my Job, trademark sign.

i’m really glad to have tried to push my composition further, as well as trying to do the fullblack render for a lot of it. i think i see some really minor errors but i kind of don’t care anymore lol.

did i mention i have a goal of making like at least one angel every month? it’s been working out so far. i have one i’m thinking about but it’s hard to execute on, like this one! sigh. it’s actually probably more FFXIV soon too. tragic!

i wanted to design the angel uniform to evoke a nun’s attire while also making it a bit slutty. this is primarily because i want it to be a bit slutty, but it’s got the thigh cutouts and the general form because it’s also meant to evoke the holy symbol i have on her chest.

the symbol of the blood angels is supposed to look vaguely cruciform, and is meant to represent a sun over a lake, and the blood seeping into the lake down into the earth is representative of the death of the first angel that then bestowed its power to the rest of the world. that kind of thing.

it is a thinly-veiled trans-adjacent symbol too, considering it’s like a pseudo-hybrid of the mars and venus symbols with some sunrays, but i like that the uniform is able to also evoke it.

aside from that, angels carry the little belt that has a holy book of some variety and purifying flasks for their typical tasks of eliminating errant singers in the world. november’s holy book is not one for proselytizing, but a record of her own exploits and feelings on things she has handled as an absolver. she always hopes to share it more often.

i've been thinking a lot about this uniform since i sketched it a while ago and how it can apply to different body types and such. i think i did a good job here. i want a variety of different people to be angels in this setting.

I was reading Tower Dungeon and it made me want to practice a lot of stuff and think about how people make compelling outfits and silhouettes that are also relatively easy to keep drawing repeatedly without fatigue.

I've been trying to work on this setting on-and-off for a while, and switching Fleshworld (internal title) to be more of a fantasy than science fiction feels much better for the kind of tale I want to tell.

i think it’s worth posting some of the prior stages of silencer because i think they all had their own neat merits

the angel is joyously vivisected in pencil, as described before in the original post.

there’s a distinct visceral nature to the purely pencil linework and gradients, but after looking at my previous work in “i feel sick”, without pencils possessing deeper depths of value, it just kind of feels unfinished.
still, i really love the quality of lines i pulled off.

and now, segmented in bloody spot color!

this one would be fun to have as like an isolated sticker or something. maybe a print for a jacket. haha.

also, this went through a few internal titles for once; normally these have pretty set titles when i make them. this held “begets suffering” and “mantra” before i settled on “silencer”, since i deliberately started with the throat cutting on this one.

i tried to think about what the worst possible hand to get in a poker game would be. a 7 and a 2 of different suites seemed like the most applicable.
can’t make a straight, two pair is fairly unlikely, can’t flush, full house is nearly impossible, etc.
of course also the river was designed to be as inhospitable as possible.

coloring the chips was cute fun. i nearly forgot about any semblance of currency.

also for those of you waiting on commissions, thank you for your patience. my hours at my real job have increased once more, leaving me with less time to work on things. this is not to mention my current $600 loss of my (faulty) graphics card which gigabyte may be attempting to scam me out of.

i bought a faulty RTX 5070 back in november and shipped it out there to their service center, where it was supposedly delivered, but was never entered in their system.

the first customer service correspondent from gigabyte seemed very actually helpful (thanks michael) until i asked i suppose too many questions and they reassigned me a much less helpful person who told me to file a claim, which was obviously rejected.

i’ve got a missing mail claim out to try to find the card now, which hopefully they’ll figure our who is either fucking lying to me or if someone stole my broken fucking card.

i’m just so fucking tired, man.

hilariously, watching northernlion play PUBG is what really kickstarted my desire to play tarkov. that and trying more of forever winter and realizing how fucking bad the grind is in that game right now.

what i didn’t anticipate was getting sick for like, 2 weeks the moment my vacation from work started. i could barely do anything. my cough is still here.

i had a moment before christmas where i was made to feel like i dress inadequately. i wonder if my mom thinks i look indecent or something.

anyway.

i started this new year being incredibly sick, doing a big DJ set, and playing ctf_2fort. happy to have finally drawn something.
