I love how lanky dudes like this look with a massive gut... Hff... <3

For clarity, I did not model this from scratch, Ryuji did put out a New Beetle but it was the RSi and it was done for NFS3 Hot Pursuit. I started with that as a base, narrowed the fenders down and did some reshaping. The textures are a combination of textures from that and Beetle Adventure Racing.

Re: The project I've been working on for 4 days... It's just a New Beetle done up in the style of the old Need for Speed modder Ryuji Kainoh for High Stakes/Road Challenge. It's imperfect on-purpose but I worry it's just not up to standard. Screenshots for comparison of some of RK's cars.

I wish I could "nibble" at things over time like other people can, I wish I didn't do this stupid thing where I either lean way too hard into a project, or I abandon it or both. Why can't I be fucking normal?

The Blobject Fish @blobject.fish · 2h

Like, it was supposed to just be a quick modification to an existing (over 20 year old) game mod that would take maybe an afternoon to slap together and it turned into me completely fucking up my sleep schedule, neglecting my friends and other hobbies and feeling like I'm disappearing 🙃

The Blobject Fish @blobject.fish · 2h

I've been working on the same project for 4 days now and it's making me feel weird and guilty because: A) I'm neglecting my art studies (haven't finished a drawing in about a week) B) It's pretty much only for me (I might release it but see point C...) C) It's kind of shitty on-purpose 🙃

I gotta re-plug this, unforts. About to hit a rough shortfall for beginning of month bills, and I've got a rough idea of what I need to replace to get my recently bricked PC back up and running. Any assistance would be a huge help, right now! ko-fi.com/hirorwar/goa...

Anyone who's any good with Blender... Can you tell me how to get rid of these dark spots on my model? 😭 It's a modified version of an old car model for an old racing game, I was trying to turn a race car into the street version so I've had to cut and fill and move a lot of vertices...

I basically only draw humans when I'm making them look weird and stupid anyways. :P

I still think ideally they should make a game set in the same universe but where you get to make your own guy like an Elder Scrolls game 'cause they have so many different species of cute guy lol

And this is after I spent hours last night trying to figure out how to extract textures from an N64 game and finally got what I needed after installing 3 different versions of Project64.

All the sound files are on The Sounds Resource... But they're unlabeled so if I want to find the car I'm trying to find I'll have to listen to each and every one of these hundreds of wav files and try to figure out which one is the Golf GTI engine sound. Fun, fun, fun!!!

I hate how annoying it can be to do even simple tasks with how overloaded with stupid bullshit the internet is now I'm trying to extract some car audio files from NFS Undeground 2 to use in a project. Google brings up a tool to create new files in the format... That doesn't extract. 🙃

The shiiirt, hell yes. <3 And yeah... Even without the constant fear that the "you're getting laid off/fired again" meeting is eventually coming, when it's not something serious it's like... This could have been an email or a 30 second Teams convo lmfao

The Blobject Fish @blobject.fish · 28/09/2026

Reminds me of when I had a Cars OC... He was a Vanagon. 😂 Wonder if they ever made a New Beetle casting... I know they've had at least two aircooled Beetles now.

Appreciated! Yeah other than that the only issue I've had is that the standard Windows camera app doesn't seem to want to work and I think that's 'cause I stripped all the AI bullshit out of it lol

Yeah this is the first I'm hearing of this which I guess just goes to show how effective of a marketing move it is, lol Didn't they try to put in racing missions too...? In a game that has notoriously bad driving physics? I feel like I remember hearing about that.

Likewise for so, so many characters and species, I love looking at weird obscure Mario characters to make fat, and yet I've still caught blocks from fully grown adult furries over tepid criticisms like "Don't TP anyone's house over it, but Disney Vault-ing half the pokedex was a bad move"

My number one reason for moving to mostly only playing indie games is that AAA stuff has just kinda stopped bothering to optimize file sizes. Sure yes the prices and business ethics are generally bad too But when every game is like 200 gb then I cant even install more than one in the first place!

Standing around with an awkward glare and wearing nothing but a white tanktop and briefs, a pudgy Wolf O'Donnell is trying to hide his fat, gurgling belly with his shirt; between belches, he blames 'that fox' for his sudden girth as noodles dangle from his lips.
