Idgaf what anybody says. Kal-El is a Black name. Clark Kent is his gov't name. And Superman is his SLAVE name. That 🥷🏽 passing. 😄😜 Happy belated MLK Day/Early Black History Month.

I love playing spot the character in older films and TV. Bubba Smith played Hightower in Police Academy but also Claude as Sweet Daddy's henchman in Good Times! (On the left)

I'm on a Patrick Swayze bender at the moment and have never seen Road House. Ooooooooweeeeeeeee. First of all, two Leos (Patrick & Sam Elliott) being in those roles pullin' those stunts?? Wow. Okay? Wow. But Sam....hooooobuddy. 🥵 He woulda been a PROBLEM lmao

Wow have times changed or what. In season 1 episode 6 of Good Times, 16 year old Thelma is going on a date with a 21 year old grad student 🫢 and even though her parents don't like it it's not treated like sexual deviance. So. Weird.

The ONLY thing I miss about academia apart from my students is how academics work year round and reply on weekends and holidays if you inquire about their special interest or research. You don't have to wait 3-5 business days to hear a reply lol

There's a movie called Queenpins about a coupon laundering scheme that starts out with a woman writing positive feedback to companies and they send her coupons. I tried it and THAT ACTUALLY WORKS.

Rewatching Runaway Bride and catching details like Maggie's purse has a set of scales on it and when they zoom in it says Libra which would totally explain her inability to decide to get hitched 😁

The Trolls and the Christmas Express is timeless! Roger Miller did the narration. You might recognize that handsome voice of his from playing Alan a Dale (and doing those songs) in Disney's Robin Hood! His voice is a fixture of my childhood. www.youtube.com/watch?v=icDI...

See. This is why I keep going back to these vintage TV series. I never made it all the way through Sanford and Son and look who shows up in Season 4. Young Pat Morita!! Karate Kid would have had us thinking Pat could barely speak English lol

So, the Tempest is just chillin on YT at the moment...I admit, I slept on this one. But even though it's kind of slow, the acting is great, specifically Brother Djimon as Caliban, like WOW. And whoever did his makeup?? Incredible work. Of course, Dame Mirren gonna Dame. youtu.be/lcnp8apSJ1k?...

I love catching little blips in major films. It reminds me that it is human to err. In the Princess Bride around 45:44 when they're in the fire swamp and Wesley rolls the ROUS into the fire spout, check out the right hand of the screen. A guy straight up just walks into the frame and waits lmao
