I don't think there's a need to argue with people online when they don't like a show you like. Agreeing to disagree is fine and art is subjective. I think this person's problem was that they felt like you specifically look out for people critiquing Lain. I don't believe that is the case.

Empathy is the enemy of bullies and key to knowledge. When people struggle to show others empathy, the result isn't just stubborness, but someone who is incapable of learning. Those who empathize with others are much more capable of understanding the experience of others and learning from them.
