my first video game was super mario bros. the first game where I started to appreciate video games as a medium was probably earthbound. I've been playing games since I was 3 so it's hard to pinpoint. but the most meaningful first time video game experience I had was Yume Nikki.

one time there was a tech youtuber who made clearly fake "pranking package pirates" videos, and I pointed out they were fake as hell and a dozen people jumped on me for it. and then like a week alter he admitted they were all fake. anyways how about that mighty mike plays situation huh?

I'll never understand why 20 somethings on the internet go out of their way to hate kids so much. the mere mention of a child being mildly annoying on the internet results on insults and death threats. I think there's still a whole reddit for it.

it was such a good term for the culture of White Youth Group People and now i hate using it lol

I'm starting ocarina discourse. that $40 ocarina you can get from amazon > that $50 ceramic one you can get at any nerd convention > the official one

got this keyboard around 8 years ago and it's basically been powered on as the centerpiece of my studio ever since. And I might finally be retiring it. don't think I could ever sell it.

variations in sound for how far I press, how fast I press, how hard I press wiggling for vibrato, and how fast I pull off. and that's not even all the expression options. legitimately got chills when I was first trying stuff out lol

I think a huge appeal of vsynths has always been "writing for a character" as opposed to strictly "adding a vocal hook to your track without a human vocalist". also why vsynths have largely avoided the "replacing human singers" discourse for so long (from people who know what they're talking about).

010

bleep @bleep.music · 15/08/2026

Just really don't see why you can't create a character and appeal to producers of different genres. third party developers have been doing it pretty well with Solaria and such.

000

bleep @bleep.music · 15/08/2026

Vocaloid 5 tried a similar angle with a "they're just human singers for your edm track!" kind of an angle.

010

bleep @bleep.music · 15/08/2026

almost 20 years of vocaloid culture has conditioned me to be really weirded out by vocaloid and synthv releasing banks with faceless characters. I would love to see sales stats because I'm dying to know who's going for this over Miku or Teto.

I played the original Rainbow Six and liked it so I read the book and that's when I learned military fanboys shouldn't be allowed to make stuff

000

bleep @bleep.music · 06/08/2026

you don't need hype cycles and online fan theory culture to enjoy a new piece of media. there's nothing innately special about the culture around deltarune. join a book club.

020

bleep @bleep.music · 06/08/2026

the presentism of the idea that the hype culture around deltarune is unique is really goofy to me. fan theories, and hype culture have been part of media consumption for so long that they parodied it in the simpsons with "who shot mr burns?". you can also do this any time with any piece of media.

"make electronic shoegazey vocaloid songs with me" is also a shockingly hard sell

001

bleep @bleep.music · 01/08/2026

really need someone to do regular music collabs with that can drag my ass to do for fun projects. it's very hard to find someone I both vibe with and is a lil freak who makes music 90 hours a day like I do.
