Chest day fitness sky! It was the worst training session I've had IN A WHILE. Did 10 reps of 75.5KG x4 series on flat bench press first of all and the rest was just trying not to die on the rest of the circuit. BUT I WENT TO THE GYM and that's all that matters. Kill me tho

Respire - Hiraeth This blackgaze album is insanely beautiful. Pure rage and growls over beautiful trumpets and delicate strings at times, it feels like all of the nostalgia of your past is coming to remind you: you are still good enough. You are still beautiful and capable of feeling. Keep living.

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

Weezer - White Album I don't understand why this album isn't talked about more. This was weezer in top form. Back to Pinkerton/blue album type melodies, Rivers making his best songs in almost 20 years; a cohesive album with amazing lyrics and superb vibes. Favorite Weezer album, hands down

Lemon Demon - Spirit Phone Neil Cicierega did my favorite album of 2016 bar none. This album is a fun as hell mix of pop, 80s synths, and humor with some amazing melodies in there. Extremely fun extremely recommended

120

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 11/11/2024

dogleg - melee This is probably my favorite emo record of the 2020s. It's extremely raw, passionate, well written, and just a hurricane of emotions and the sheer pain of existing in times where nothing makes sense also they broke up because the singer was apparently mad jealous in his relationship

110

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 11/11/2024

okay let's continue with this Japandroids - Post-Nothing Aggressive, very horny, very dumb, very fun garage rock power duo who had no time for anything that wasn't getting drunk and getting sad fast I love this album more than my life itself

110

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 09/11/2024

Four albums I consider perfect Dogleg - Melee Close to the Edge - Yes It's album time - Todd Terje Ordinary Corrupt Human Love - Deafheaven

Dragonland - Astronomy I've been disconnected from power metal because I started to find it very samey. Not a diss to the genre or the fans at all. This 2006 album encapsulates much of what I loved about the genre. Speedy "classical" arranges, amazing vocal performances and SHREDDY SOLOS.

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 04/11/2024

Pretty Girls Make Graves - Good Health Altrock/emo punk guitars roar in this record that's more than 20 years old. Aggressive sad lyrics that feel extremely urgent and desperate, social anxiety as a key theme in the record. Very fun record!

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

AJJ - People That can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World Folk punk, extremely intimate and sincere songs with plenty of sarcasm and self-hate and a beautiful manner of pouring out disappointment and hopelessness, with a message of enduring hope. We are not alone against capitalism.

120

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

Jake McKelvie and the Countertops - Solid chunks of Energy But I swear my anger is not livid enough And my memories are not vivid enough And my nerves are not timid enough And you are not forgiving enough And I’m not really living enough to make any of this seem worthwhile this should be enough

110

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure This 2020 album was a tragedy in the sense that I couldn't go dancing to it to any pubs because of the pandemic. This is such a beautifully crafted pop/disco album. It's so EXTREMELY classy and danceable and DON'T TRY TO KILL ME WITH YOUR LOVE, DON'T KILL ME WITH

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Sports Bra - Talk it Out "trans emo" has been a thing for a couple years now, and I don't see Sports Bra being talked about nearly as much as they should be. This album encapsulates a lot about being afraid to actually exist, share things and love. Pretty beautiful album.

111

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Ought - Sun Coming Down What is post-punk decided they will show that emotion. What happens then? Would be one of the questions made when this album was made. Sincere apathy and being distraught by actual life are a huge focus point. Extremely well rounded album and far from "ironic" shouty punk

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency and I This alt rock album from right around the end of the 90s perfectly encapsulates "millenial" in a way no other album does. Angsty but detached, depressed but hiding it. Confused and still wanting to feel. The lyrics and the vibe set by it are immaculate.

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Fair to Midland - Inter.funda.stifle Alt rock, with a "magical" tint to it. I don't think I can express the vibe this album has in a different way. It feels emergent, self-made and sincere. The following records would be better produced and composed, but this one feels SO RAW for the genre.

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Mariko Goto - 299792458 I've seen this album get tons of flak because it's not nearly as jazzy or crazy as her previous records with Midori, and I find that unfair. This is a perfect blend of jrock/pop with the previous crazyness of Midori; just a tad smoothed out. I actually love this one.

110

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

Cursive - Domestica an album going over a HARSH breakup, seminal post-hardcore that forgoes anything melodic, with focus on dissonant screams, wailing guitars and an overall gloomy and sad atmosphere "When you're selfless, you're so hard not to adore When you're selfish, I just love you even more"

100

Rush @blazingrush.bsky.social · 01/11/2024

I'm trying to keep a positive mindset about Strive, but Sol feels extremely sluggish; and I know it's a muscle memory thing but my hands keep doing bandit. It's so annoying I'm also not seeing anyone really having fun? Maybe except the Sin players and I'm so glad for them. More thought is needed
