Ready for more "visible" #weather satellite images? The #noreaster continues to overstay its welcome across the NE U.S., apparently waiting for better views of the Fall #foliage, as coastal wind and flooding impacts continue. The good news is it will be departing tomorrow.

When you’re looking at what is thought to be a seagull resting in an open parking spot in South Tampa, you zoom in from afar with your iPhone camera and…well, you realize it is not a resting seagull.

The center of low pressure associated with the #noreaster continued to be exposed with an isolated burst of convection on the northern edge of the central vortex this Saturday afternoon, as seen nicely in this satellite animation. Significant impacts continue ahead of this storm.

For the Skew-T enthusiasts of weather data analysis, the upper-level low pressure system that passed from east to west across FL the last few days, the passage is evident in the wind flow shifts from NE to N on Thu and Fri to SW on Sat and now SE as of this Sun morning.

Heavy rain occurred across portions of Tampa Bay this afternoon, as outflow boundaries interacted with one another as an upper low pressure system started to push off the Florida west coast. The Tampa International Airport (TPA) measured 1.09 inches of rain in about :50 minutes before 5 PM!

When an upper-level, cold pocket of air moves toward the Tampa Bay area with surface temperatures near 90F, you need to watch out for… blowing snow … or, errors with folks reporting rain. Thankfully, the observer corrected it in mPING. #weather

Impressive cold pocket -10C air at 500 mb around 18-20k feet in the atmosphere will be rotating over the state today and Saturday. Although the overall storm coverage will be less than we observed over the last few weeks, a couple updrafts will have an extra kick! #weather
