Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 04/05/2025I'm a big fan of configuration management with Ansible. When using Uptime Kuma, you can programmatically add monitors with the help of a Python script. This way, when setting up a new monitoring server, you no longer have to do it manually. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 13/01/2025The FAQ of GitHub Copilot Workspace addresses the most important question first. 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 12/01/2025I'm currently experimenting with two approaches for pagination in the frontend. In the first approach, the user can navigate through pages. In the second approach, the next page is appended to the already loaded pages. Somehow, I actually find the second approach better. 020
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 09/01/2025One of the reasons why I prefer Vue over React. A component can emit an event, so I don't need to pass event handlers as props anymore. Interestingly, GitHub Copilot suggests exactly that for my Vue component. 100
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 09/01/2025Cool how the developers named the parameters of range(...) and rangeClosed(...). This way, you immediately know which argument is inclusive or exclusive. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/01/2025IntelliJ also checks the code suggestions from GitHub Copilot. It's just a code snippet, though. 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Today I learned that when using curl, you should enclose a URL in quotes if it contains query parameters. Otherwise, the & will cause the command to run in the background. Thanks, ChatGPT, for the explanation 😅. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/01/2025A small project I'm working on. An app for creating counters. With it, I can count how many times I need to defeat a boss in World Of Warcraft until I get the mount it can drop. After each attempt, I increase the counter. #WorldOfWarcraft 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 07/01/2025With so many titles, what would her LinkedIn profile look like? #WorldOfWarcraft 020
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 03/01/2025Treat yourself to a big bowl of delicious ore. #WorldOfWarcraft 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 10/12/2024A small application I'm working on. I want to count how many times I need to defeat Argus to get Shackled Ur'zul. After each attempt, I can increase the counter. #WorldOfWarcraft 030
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 10/12/2024I didn't know there's a portal to Bel'ameth in Darkshore. #WorldOfWarcraft 030
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 09/12/2024I still sometimes think about the cat lady in Boralus. It's nice that Blizzard takes the time for such details. #WorldOfWarcraft 030
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 09/12/2024Look at this chair. Made by a kobold. Probably for the new housing feature 😂. #WorldOfWarcraft 020
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/12/2024If you want to delete something in WoW, you can type "delete" entirely in lowercase. It doesn't need to be capitalized. #WorldOfWarcraft 240
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/12/2024I still have these 😍. Nowadays, I only buy them digitally. 110
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/12/2024You can use the earthen teleporter to quickly travel from Stormwind or Orgrimmar to The Ringing Deeps. #WorldOfWarcraft 3125
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Interesting sleeping position. Doesn't look very comfortable. #WorldOfWarcraft 060
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 03/12/2024It was worth defeating Dunegorger Kraulok with my many alts. A flying alpaca mount would really be awesome. #WorldOfWarcraft 060
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 24/11/2024I found this vending machine in The Ringing Deeps. The red buttons even work. Goblins have always had an interesting style. #WorldOfWarcraft 270
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 23/11/2024 Really cool that Bluesky displays such a warning. I wonder if the term "domain name" might be too technical for some users. Maybe users should be told to check the browser's address bar. 041
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Apparently, you can use CSS to make a button look similar to a button in World of Warcraft. Cool how you can use different colors to give the button a 3D appearance. 020
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Whenever I see hardcoded API routes, I wonder if collecting them in a central file would be better. Changing the api folder of a Nuxt project wouldn't break anything, as only the central file would need updating. I wouldn't have to search through the project for hardcoded routes to update them. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 22/11/2024There might be some players who don't know this yet and are annoyed by all the messages in the chat. If you right-click on "General" in the chat, you can open a window by selecting "Settings". Then, click on "Channels". Uncheck "4.Services", and the chat will be much calmer. #WorldOfWarcraft 020
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 22/11/2024I think the separation between logic, markup, and styling in Vue is really well done. A user on Reddit wrote that Vue is JavaScript in HTML, while React is HTML in JavaScript. So far, I actually prefer Vue and Nuxt over React and Next. 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 22/11/2024In Spring Boot, there are different ways to insert sample data into the database. One option is the PostConstruct annotation. After an object of DataInitializer is created, its init method is called because it is annotated with PostConstruct. In this method, I can persist my sample data. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 21/11/2024Today I learned that you can split a project into modules in IntelliJ. For example, my project has a folder called "frontend" and another called "backend". The frontend is a Nuxt project, and the backend is a Spring Boot project. IntelliJ recognizes this and adjusts its suggestions accordingly. 000
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 20/11/2024At the very beginning of a new project, I always think about the data in the software. I make a data model using a UML class diagram. The problem with this data model was the name "Drop". Drop is a keyword in SQL and cannot be used as the name of a table. So, I renamed the class to "Event". 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 19/11/2024I always try to configure parts of my development machine automatically using Ansible. For example, if I ever need to reinstall Ubuntu, I just have to run a playbook. However, Ansible cannot install itself, which is why I use a shell script for this step. 110
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 19/11/2024If housing becomes part of WoW with Midnight, maybe we can place items from raids in our own house. I'm sure there's a spot for Zovaal. #WorldOfWarcraft 060
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 19/11/2024I'm really grateful that Blizzard lets you go straight to Zereth Mortis. 010
Blake @blakeascode.bsky.social · 19/11/2024It would be really cool if the German WoW client also had the feature to generate a name. I find choosing a good name one of the hardest parts of creating a new character. 000
