A screenshot from Ring 2. It shows Mai Takano, a teaching assistant who worked for math professor Ryuji Takayama, Reiko Asakawa’s deceased ex-husband. She’s a young Japanese woman with high cheekbones and a bobbed haircut.

She’s standing under a transparent umbrella as she waits outside of the elementary school that Reiko’s son Yoichi used to attend. She has a look of concern on her face after having just seen an apparition of Yoichi.

Another screenshot, this time of a video interview of Sanae, a young woman who had watched the cursed video tape. The footage gets increasingly distorted and her head keeps shaking erratically back and forth.

The man watching off-screen had promised to watch it so that Sadako’s curse would lift from her, but did not keep it and lied that he had seen it. Her dead spirit is now coming back to haunt him.

She is appearing as a replayed memory that Sadako had projected on the videotape, i.e. of her combing her hair in a circular mirror as Sadako momentarily moves the mirror to reflect on herself.

At this moment, Shizuko turns to see Mai Takano watching the memory play out, her agape expression filled with a quiet malevolence.

A photo of my Citrus Con order from Maggie and Shane via ScumSuck.com. The items are spread out on my bed, from left to right: a large ink sketch commission of Shin and Sena from Eyeshield 21, two stickers of Shuichi and Eiri from Gravitation, Queen of the Hill yuri AU zine, King of the Yaoi zine, Fujo Phrases zine, and a small doodle of Sena on the back of a business card.

Another photo, this time of my order from Ringo-chan via RottenGirlGang.com. The items spread out on my bed include: an “I’m like of a pervert were a sweetheart” bumper sticker, a roll of lemon/lime yaoi washi tape, two lemon/lime themed sticker sheets, two lemon and lime yaoi themed liquid soda keychains, and three waterproof stickers. The stickers are a swirl-glasses wearing fujoshi as a six-winged seraphim, a sunny rainbow label that reads, “100% organic yaoi, free range, ethically raised,” and a masculine person holding a pregnant belly over text that reads “Mpregnant.”
