Two more modern shows about the work life of those in and around Baseball rather than the actual sport itself. And both are really charming work place comedies with lots of little stories going on throughout. I loved these anime immensely but I know they have little chance of a BD release.

Then we have two honourable mentions of sorts. First we have Lufy from Gall Force, who is sporting blonde hair but with a green streak. 8% chance a man might not be able to tell the difference. Next is Kei from Dirty Pair Flash who is sporting the opposite combo of red/orange with a blonde streak.

Ozanari Dungeon - 1991 - TMS Entertainment Character: Moka This is a fun fantasy OVA with a slayers vibe. Moka is kinda like the fantasy version of Kei from Dirty Pair. Throughout she is sporting a large red streak in her blonde hair. I highly recommend this OVA for those who like to dive deeper.

Capricorn - 1991 - Aubec Character: Mona Based on a Manga from the creator of Outlanders this OVA stars a half dragon half girl called Mona. She is part of a species known as Yappie and as you can see she is sporting blonde hair with a strong single red streak down the middle.

California Crisis: Gun Salvo - 1986 - Studio Unicorn Character: Marcia This is more a less a quirk of the shading for this infamous OVA but still I think this is the first instance of Blonde Hair and Red Streaks. Notably throughout her hair making it more two tone.

So I have discovered a small subset of Anime OVAs and have subsequently completed watching them too. OVAs with female main characters that have blonde hair with a red streak. I've found 3 in total. But if you stretch and fiddle with the definition as many as 5 lol. Check out the thread 🧵

Holy Grail obtained! Finally put right the wrong of not buying this over a decade a go. This has become a stupidly hard to find set, took me a couple of years to get it. The fact that Aniplex never released this is so baffling as I'm pretty sure the original was an evergreen title for Funimation.

New Anime Haul! I've fallen back on DVD hard of late. Just going back and filling some gaps and finally picking up a grail like Fantastic Children. Jumped in on The Third: Girl with the Blue Eye first. Will probably finish it tomorrow. Good sci fi series from Xebec.

Seeing shows of the era get the big screen cel painted treatment rarely leaves me with anything but awe. The backgrounds of today can look amazing, truly. But there is something about the warmth and depth to the painted backgrounds of cel painted productions like this that just can't be matched.

Feels kinda wild to be getting new Takahashi and Arakawa adaptations at the same time. Both Mao (Rumiko T.) and Daemons of The Shadow Realm (Hiromu A.) started airing this week for the Spring 2026 season. Viz have already licensed Mao, so at least something is going right in the Anime world lol

I also decided to do the Anime Aura thing. Nostalgic for the 2000s is bang on. I'll champion cel painted anime to I'm blue in the face but give me some of that SD digipaint and I'm so comfy, it's my happy place. The aura results change every time despite using the same shows which is odd. Oh well.
