The thing that gets me is ... These billionaire fucks are never working for anything more than more money. Sure they'll say it's for a base on Mars or the 3 day work week or whatever the fuck. But it's only ever lip service that could vaguely be at the end of what they've decided to do right now.

Final episode has their Transdimensional office or whatever under attack and the hosts both die, but then they get a prompt to regress and try again, so it loops back to the first episode and as that audio plays quietly we'll reveal the hosts didn't get isekaid they're actually just in hell.

Basically a mix of Stellar firma, all my fantasy children, and isekai. Following the conventions of the genre, it will have a long convoluted name and a short name. Something like: I died and got isekaid except instead of getting cool cheat powers all I got was this part time job.

I bet it would have slang for the different cyber bullets. A bullet with a name on it carries a virus targeted at like, one specific mother fucker on the mega ship. Silver bullet targets the on board economy. Magic bullet targets a bunch of minor weak points to cause a cascading system collapse.

Could also make it so it requires a progression. I.e. Must absorb x weak dragon souls before you can absorb medium, you can't just start by snorting up the dragon gods soul raw. even dragons you kill might come back depending on your progression status, make them feel like an actual problem.

Anecdotal, and dependent on your players, but I've never found it that hard to get players to make sub optimal decisions because it was interesting or a better story beat. My crowning achievement in this so far is I gave a player a devils bargain that their character would die and they took it.

Idea for this experiment is mainly for me to work on it in a way that all the resulting code is separated by domain in reusable chunks. So far the controller meets that, not sure how I'll structure the next push just yet.

The other big thing missing from this experiment so far is physics. Gonna need to do some research for that probably, from what I'm seeing there's a couple plugins people use. I also want to see if I can get marching cubes working. If I do then I'll be halfway to anywhere, more or less.

Basic screenshot is basic, but the capsule moves when I press the buttons. So it works, dammit. I think I need to flip one of the axes though, or maybe rotate the camera starting position. Eh, the actual camera needs to be redone entirely, but that's a problem for a different day.

Giving myself a cookie as a treat because I made a generic reusable controller for my bevy experiments. Honestly, the hardest part was setting up an abstraction layer so I can use it as a base implementation of wasd controls plus some basics (jump, sprint, etc) and only do fancier stuff if I need it

A lot of faction turn style stuff could have the manual management automated as well, which could be expanded to things like a simulated world. There's a lot of mostly unexplored space around the edges of ttrpgs and digital tools IMO,

My white whale would be a full ttrpg IDE/"game engine", but also generators and rollers and such. In particular I think there's a lot of typically prep side stuff that you could do a lot of interesting things with if you hook it up to rogue like style procedural generation.

It's still baby steps, but I've been talking with my brother more. We set up a monthly call and have been following through on that. It's not much. But it helps.

The thing I'd be getting at is, It's one thing to say it's a house of cards, and another to say it's the same house of cards but only this specific person can push it down. I remember some vague pushing towards prophecy and such from the books but not the specifics so blarg.

It's a very interesting series with lots to interrogate at multiple levels imo.
