Some games already do this with subtitles for image-based-text, and for other text, it should already exist as strings in the localization data... I really don't want to get reading glasses exclusively for old games 🔎🔍

I like to think that the reason that people, including myself, think certain things suck is because they highlight a weakness of a player. Granted, sometimes it's a weakness shared by humanity, like not being able to move faster than a hitscan bullet.

But, now I have to ask myself "Why might the devs have made them this way?" Variance to enemy attacks, sure, but what about restricting player movement? Suddenly, these enemies are more like a mobile AoE poison thing that hurts more the closer you get to them (well, in theory anyway)

This discussion is making me reevaluate certain enemies... Having replayed Serious Sam recently, I renewed my hatred of the hitscan chaingun enemies, as they felt out-of-place against the others that use projectile-based attacks.

A friend of mine I met in university is a connoisseur of weird horror/ silly gore, and through them, I learned that the scariest stuff in these films was what I *thought* was going to happen... A kid with an active imagination is going to be terrified before even seeing the film!!!

The scariest part of Subnautica, for me, anyway, was a spot of cloudy water near the start of the game: it felt like a mix of claustrophobia and agoraphobia, along with a suspicion that something with pointy teeth was *just* out of view...
