I'd need to write an essay to get my full point across. But yes, egocentric without the urge to look for the benefits of working together towards the good of the people. People grow up being told to look out for number one "because nobody else will". Distrust in authorities doesn't help.

Sadly, many Americans have no idea that socialism and communism are two separate things. This seems to be ingrained in several generations, going back to the time when "commies" were the actual enemy. It's disheartening that new generations don't think enough for themselves to know the difference.

If you actually haven't needed to show a photo ID when voting, that should be required to prove your identity. However, it should be cheap and simple enough for anyone to get such an ID. Having a photo ID can only be a good thing for identity verification. What kind of downsides could exist?

As a European, I find it obvious that it should require a valid photo ID to vote. A problem in the States seems to be that it's not a cheap or straightforward process to get one. As a European, I also find it horrendous that people in US prisons aren't allowed to vote (if that is indeed true).

If you get your electricity in your home from a company that cares about the environment, you should be able to select to only get electricity from renewable sources (water, solar, wind, etc.).
