Since then lots of other dice companies have created advent calendars, but ours are still the only one with totally original dice inside. Sometimes those dice inspired new sets. This blue knight was inspired by a set in Advent-ure Calendar 5: Dragon’s Lair.
A set of sparkling blue dice with silver ink. There are crossed swords on the high face of each die.

Every year since we have produced three calendars, one holiday, one for counting down to any event, and a big 31 day calendar for Halloween.

We’re proud to say we were the first dice company to make a dice filled advent calendar. The Holiday Tavern ran on Kickstarter in 2019 and sold out in a few hours.

The wizard is scratching a skeleton cat on the top of its head…er, skull? A fierce mimic with sharp teeth is pictured in a thumbnail at the lower left. The text reads Meet Chompers! Today and every April 1st, we honor the chit by including a printed, color-coded set of chits free with every online order! Ok you might be thinking…what? Full explanation (and new dice) at blackoakworkshop.com
A sheet of chits. They are numbered squares representing the sides of a standard polyhedral set of dice. The squares are cut out and placed in cups on the table. To roll a d20 for example, you draw a numbered square from the d20 cup. In the early days of role playing games, dice were in short supply so chits were included in games as emergency number generators. New dice! The Advanced Dice and Crayon sets take you back to the early days of role-playing games. Color the set with the included crayon, or use your own paint pens. Available in six colors! The Advanced Dice and Crayon set shown in its retail packaging. A mysterious wizard overlooks a smoking cauldron filled with blue dice. The Moonbeam 7-dice set. The dice are a dark purple swirl with silver ink. A cat sitting on a crescent moon is on each high face. Moonbeam and her matching dice bag are now available on our website!

We’re at Mythic Con West in Asheville this weekend for some gaming fun! #dice #mythiccon

Dice towers by Dragon Armor Games. An assortment of handmade wooden dice towers sitting on a vendor table. They have different symbols on the front of each. We’re working on a new website that will include an archive of all our dice Advent-ure Calendars. This is our first one, from 2019, The Holiday Tavern. We were still figuring things out, and we didn’t make that many. If you find one in the wild, grab it!
The North Star dice set. A deep blue glitter with white ink and a star in white ink on each die face. The Christmas Tree polyhedral dice set. A seven piece dice set in dark green swirl with white ink. There is a Christmas tree on the high face or each die. The Snowflakes set is silver ink on a white swirl. There is a snowflake on the high face of each die. The single dice from Advent-ure Calendar 1. They are all d20s. Holiday Lights is black with white ink and a Christmas light bulb on the high face. It came with a note encouraging the owner to color the lights. The Santa d20 is red with Santa’s cap on the high face. The Coal d20 is entirely black with black ink. The Candy Cane d20 is white with red ink and a candy cane on the high face.

The Black Oak Workshop booth at PAX Unplugged 2024. There is a big beholder with lighted eyes on the wall at the center, surrounded by the selection of bags we have on sale. On either side of the bags are polyhedral dice sets in clamshells. Our Advent-ure Calendars are on the side tables. There are monsters watching from the top of the wall. They are friendly and love Christmas. Player 1/Player 2 d2s in the Treasure Chest. They are bright yellow with black ink and look like the buttons on games at the video arcade.
