iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I don’t know if or when I’ll do the New Game Plus, but I’m still down for some plot DLC. Theres just too many unanswered questions. I will say this though, whoever the guy who played Dr Darling is, he is absolutely incredible. Give that man an award. 8 out 10 #controlresonant #ps5 #videogames

000

And that Earthbound section was poorly placed and underdeveloped, that could have been a cutscene. 80% of Control Resonant is a 9, but the other 20% is a 7. Much like this clip right here, it took way too long for things to fall into place.

100

instead I got a whole extra, redundant chapter. I was so disappointed that they chose to enforce a time limit on that Co-Director fight rather than just make it an interesting boss fight. Mostly because there’s just so much creativity in the story, design, and gameplay.

110

Im still mad they made that Pope’s Radar side quest mandatory without clearly pointing it out. For me this hit its peak about 10-15 hours before it was finally over. I got to that point where I was like “ok I’ve seen enough you’re not gonna answer my questions I get it, where’s the end game at?”

100

The ambition of creating a world where up becomes down came at the cost of fun becoming not. Even though I got lost a bit till I realized the map doesn’t work but the radar does, it was quite the feat in terms of platforming and design to be able to seamlessly run around such a crazy environment.

100

From the spongey Hedron battles to the Co-Director boss fight which was cool in retrospect because it made me respec and strategize to the point I broke the game, the final chapter was such a slog.

I finally finished Control Resonant. I loved this game, but the last area, Unknown, really set the whole experience back.

If you have a Fandor subscription, you can now stream a weird/comedic horror film called "In the Mouth" directed by my friend Cory Santilli. I have a fun cameo in it.
