I don’t agree. The saying in my youth was if you saw one Nazi at a punk rock show, you were at a Nazi punk show. The maximum acceptable number of Nazis is zero - at a club, a convoy protest or a social media site. I left X when Musk stopped banning hate accounts. I had 40K+ followers.

I’m told there are some examples in Nordic countries where data centres are cooled in part by ambient temperatures in winter and also contribute to community-scale heating systems. But I don’t know enough about this.

What is remarkable is Kinew was gung ho on AI data centres in 2025. Even more remarkable: This NDP government was pursuing a private partner on a $20B Hydro deal after the party spent years criticizing the PCs over both real and potential Hydro privatization.

Kinew’s office refused to respond to questions about this for weeks. I was doing my due diligence as a reporter. During that time, Kinew came out and said he was opposed a data centres; specifically, the Iles de Chenes project that was unlikely to be approved.
